24.01.2022 It's been a busy week here for one of our test vehicles. The team has racked up hundreds of kilometres in testing our latest upcoming software release, along with a few other pieces of new technology. Thankfully the Melbourne rain mostly stayed away!

23.01.2022 Our Service Technicians have just returned from an Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) visit in Kuching, Malaysia for our long-term customer CMS. The service included maintenance checks on 2 x Hawkeye 2000 Network Survey Vehicles, and 2 x Hawkeye 1000 systems. Annually checking of the equipment ensures each system is operating as efficiently as possible and serves as an opportunity to re-train staff on all aspects of Hawkeye.

17.01.2022 The ARRB Systems team visited West Wyalong, NSW last week to install and train Bland Shire Council on the use of their new Hawkeye 1000 System. Bland Shire Councils current asset data collection is undertaken using another ARRB Systems product; the Roughometer III. Collected roughness data is compared to a set of roughness standards for different road classifications, to determine a roads condition. A visual inspection is also completed and any major defects are recorded. The Hawkeye 1000 profiler and imaging system will be used for pavement condition rating, and will help Bland Shire Council complete their inspections faster and with more accuracy.

16.01.2022 Having recently completed the collection for South Carolina, Pooled Fund Study 1478 is now on to Washington D.C. The iPAVe collected structural and functional condition data around a number of famous landmark's, including the Washington Monument and National Mall. 10.01.2022 In January 2007 we commissioned a Hawkeye 2000 System for the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai, UAE. In January this year our team carried out a maintenance service on the system and found it to be in excellent working order! A testament to the robustness of the equipment and the dedication of RTAs team to keep it in top shape!

Daniel started with us this month as a Graduate Test Engineer and is responsible for testing of all company developed software, management of the automated testing platform and assisting with Hawkeye Insight uploads. 09.01.2022 We've recently finished manufacturing five Automated Crack Detection (ACD) systems yes, you heard that right, FIVE for the Ministry of Transportation (General Administration of Survey and Evaluation), Saudi Arabia. Automatic Crack Detection is used to detect early structural degradation such as cracking, rutting and potholes and any missing or faulty road assets by using highly accurate laser technology and imagery. Combined with the power of the Hawkeye Platform, customers are able to automatically identify defects in their pavements and develop processes to establish a maintenance program. The current version '3' is used all over the world and is actually quoted as a standard in many countries. Well time stands still for no one and the Roughometer 3 will soon be superseded. Mioara has joined us as a Technical Data Analyst whose primary role is to analyse, process and deliver all collected data for customers across our offices. This includes the creation of GIS datasets, testing software and performing statistical analysis. Mioaras background is in data management, reporting and visualisation, with strong experience in data manipulation. Mioara holds a Master of Spatial Information Science from the University of Melbourne and in her spare time enjoys hiking, trekking or beach combing.

02.01.2022 ARRB Systems has recently undertaken a maintenance service on the RoadCrack System, belonging to Roads and Maritime Services (RMS). RoadCrack was first developed in the 1990s and was revered worldwide as one of the first automated crack detection systems in operation. We redeveloped the system in 2011 from a truck based unit to a trailer, allowing RMS to continue to utilise the system on their network. The cracking data collected automatically by the system allows Pavement Engineers to target road network maintenance on the basis of need, and also allows targeted preventative maintenance, leading to more cost effective management of their road network assets.
