23.01.2022 *A huge THANK YOU to Bathurst artist SANDRA CURRY for coming to Art In The Park last Sunday to share with us her motivation and passion for painting in the 'Art Concret' tradition and bringing with her, an example of her beautiful work for us to appreciate. It was very inspiring ... And thank you to all who came to hear Sandra talk We were fascinated to hear Sandra explain the historical context from which this genre evolved in 1930's Europe - when the mood of the times ...was that the world had lost it's sacredness. Geometry was the visual vocabulary through which to bring the spirit back into the world. Sandra's recent exhibition in Paris titled 'After Image', refers to the phenomenon of 'simultaneous contrast' or 'empathetic resonance', described by Rudolf Steiner, as the only time we see spirit working in matter. It was wonderful for us all to see and hear about first hand, one of Sandra's paintings - a diptych, thoughtfully and painstakingly made - it was uncompromising! Apart from the paintings' other mysteries, the more spare of the two panels, enabled us to experience the phenomenon of after image Thank you again Sandra for a most thought provoking and inspiring afternoon!! Sandra exhibits at 'Gallery Factory 49' in Sydney - 49 Shepherd Street, Marrickville, NSW 2204. Her work can be viewed on the gallery website: factory49.blogspot.com You can contact Sandra directly on : 0418 869 864

12.01.2022 Hi everyone! Art in the Park will be happening this Sunday July 19, between 2 and 4 pm, meeting at the Rotunda at Machattie Park. *Why not use this time as an opportunity to bring some friends along and take a photo of someone to enter in Bathurst Regional Council’s Photographic Portrait Competition - ‘Pictures of You’ due 11:59pm Wednesday 29 July 2020. See Bathurst Regional Art Gallery website for entry details. (you will need to include a brief statement - 100 words o...r less - telling who you have chosen to depict and why). Feel free to workshop your ideas at Art in the Park ... there will be at least 2 of us on deck who may be able to suggest ways to optimise your portrait compositions. Looking forward to seeing you if you can make it on Sunday. We will of course be keeping the 1.5 m physical distancing rule, but it will be so good to meet again in person! See you then, Rachel

11.01.2022 Art In the Park was scheduled for today - (Sunday 15 March) however Rachel is unable to be there and hasn't been able to find anyone to meet and greet. So it is officially CANCELLED for today. Sincere apologies for any inconvenience. However please don't let that stop anyone from meeting up at the usual place if you still want to - the Rotunda from 2-4pm! Look forward to seeing you next month, Sunday 19th April.

11.01.2022 Hoping everyone is keeping well during this time of physical/ social distancing due to the Corona virus. It is disappointing not to be able to meet up this month (today) as a result. Really hope you are managing OK in the event of any loss of work/ income and other challenges this situation presents.... Today we can at least enjoy the sun’s light and be reminded of The Light which sustains all things. Will let you know the lay of the land before we would normally be due to meet up next month on the 17th May. Stay safe and look forward to seeing everyone sooner rather than later! Rachel
