23.01.2022 IKEA to stop printing catalogue after 70 years At its peak, the IKEA catalogue was said to have a greater circulation than that of the Bible with 200m copies in 32 different languages distributed worldwide. But while 40m copies of the Bible are expected to be distributed around the world next year, the catalogue of the Swedish furniture giant will be no longer published because demand has fallen.... The magazine has been available online since 1998, but while the online version has gradually made the paper one obsolete, it too will be discontinued. IKEA’s online trade rose by 45% last year, thanks to providing customers with the opportunity to create their home spaces digitally, using augmented reality by projecting images of furniture on to the walls of their homes. Due to its great success this will continue and be the model they follow in the future. A great shame and yet another example of the demise of the once great printed catalogue.

YInMn Blue was accidentally discovered in 2009 by a team of researchers from Oregon State University led by chemist Mas Subramanian, who discovered the pigment whilst exploring the electronic properties of manganese oxide. This accident consequently provided YInMn Blue with its name which is derived from its elements yttrium, indium, and manganese.
