15.01.2022 WOOD ENGRAVING IN UMBRIA ITALY Just letting you about a new workshop I will be holding in Todi, Umbria in Italy. Todi is a charming hilltop town that is not ove...rrun by tourists and I will be undertaking these classes for Art Class Italy. (ACI) Todi is 1.5 hours north from Rome and 2.5 hours south of Florence. It is .5 hours south of Perugia. [Tip :Check out the Friends of Todi facebook page] Art Class Italy is owned and operated by a former gallery Director from Dickerson Gallery in Melbourne, Stephen Nall , and his partner Christine Lantas. I will be running a drawing and wood engraving workshop which i will encourage you to create a charming suite of engravings capturing your experience of this lovely little Italian village and surrounds. On completion i will create for you a broadsheet of one small engraving from each student and myself as a lovely momento. Wood engraving is a very tactile romantic medium, simple but delicate and intimate. No experience is required at all. It will run for 2 weeks with 10 days tuition and 2 days off in the middle. Optional short courses for partners /spouses in Italian cooking, possibly short courses pottery and jewellery and day outings and nature treks. The dates of my workshop are june 8 to june 19. The ACI website will be launched very soon and I will send you another link to it. There will be a Concierge desk in the website that will guide you through the logistics e.g. air travel, accommodation, workshop requirements. ACI have negotiated some amazing accommodation rates for the time you are in Todi e.g. EUR 35-100 per night. The workshops will be limited to 15 and I am expecting they will fill up quite fast. Please send this onto friends. There will be some accommodation for 3-4 people. We are charging A$3750 per student which is at the lower end of the spectrum of fees that are charged. Ten days tuition is at the higher end of the spectrum. You will be given the option to hang your work in a student show on the last day with an opening in the evening (see pic).
