10.01.2022 Today, I feel no have taken a step forward in within myself. I have been painting for a while now as as a hobby and way to help manage my mental health. For a long time I used to carry the weight of putting myself down and thinking I wasn't good enough to throw my hat in the ring. Today I did that and entered one of my paintings in the Napier Waller Art competition at the Australian War Memorial. Though it made me nervous to do so, the outcome doesn't matter. I feel victorious in the fact I did it. Sometimes these little wins within ourselves can mean more than external recognition. For all those struggling with their own mental health keep fighting and take these wins, they are yours to build upon.
