20.01.2022 The Art Gallery of NSW is currently showing an exhibition of Victorian Watercolours . A promotional image looked familiar to me . In 1880 Edward Angelo Goodall... painted 'Interior of the Mosque of Sultan Hassan, Cairo' . One hundred and six years later I sat in much the same corner of that mosque and sketched in classical biro and coloured pencil - the shortcomings of my sketch , by comparison, are clear to see.
