25.01.2022 5 years ago Artboxartclub.com started. Joel Gailer was our first commissioned artist. He now runs the whole initiative. The attached image is of Artbox founder Alex Gibson's daughter Francesca helping ship Joel's first few works all those years ago. Since 2015 we have commissioned 62 artists, paid tens of thousands of dollars to them as artist fees. In turn they have produced over 3000 signed editioned artworks.... Big thanks to all our subscriber members. We can only support artists because you support artists. Let's do another 5 years!

23.01.2022 Please sign this petition on the Australian Parliament website: Petition EN1609 - Support for Australian Arts and Entertainment Workers now. https://www.aph.gov.au/petition_list?id=EN1609 Description The arts and entertainment industry has been devastated by shutdowns caused by the coronavirus crisis. It was the first sector to be hit, when gatherings of 500 people or more were banned, and is likely to be one of the last sectors to be released from restrictions. Data recentl...y released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics shows fewer than half of businesses in the sector were operating by the end of March. After years of cuts and neglect, the government has failed to act to save the arts and entertainment sector. Although JobKeeper will help some, there are major gaps in coverage for freelancers and contractors which the government has failed to address. These gaps affect the vast majority of artists and a very significant number of technical workers. The Treasurer has the ability to fix this without legislation, and he must do so immediately. The government must also deliver the sector a tailored fiscal relief package to ensure its ongoing viability. We need large and small companies and venues to still exist following the crisis so they can continue to employ Australian artists. Australian artists are the keepers of Australian stories. They give so much to our country and to the Australian identity we cannot do without them. Petition Request We therefore ask the House to Extend the JobKeeper payment to arts and entertainment sector workers who are currently ineligible; and Deliver the arts and entertainment sector a tailored and properly targeted relief package to ensure its ongoing viability.

13.01.2022 Today we are launching Artbox Collective! Check out the space here. https://www.artsy.net/artbox-collective... We had an idea. What if a bunch of artists shared the cost and risk of running a gallery... and how could we do that during Stage 4 quarantine? Our answer is to open an artist-run commercial gallery on Artsy. So we called the best artists we know, and convinced some of them to collaborate with us. Nearly 20 artists joined the collective. PRESS RELEASE Australian-based artists work collectively to exhibit on an international stage In a year when opportunities for artists are virtually non-existent a group of Australian artists have banded together, in a shared economy, to showcase their creative endeavours on the premier international exhibition platform, Arsty. The Artbox Collective showcases a diverse selection of established Australian artists, facilitating unique opportunities for lovers of art to connect directly with the creators, through the progressive Artsy platform. Artbox began with an out of the box idea to support artists with new ways to deliver their art to the public, by utilising digital platforms to display, promote and connect on a global level. Artbox Collective co-founder and digital artist Alex Gibson was interested in how new technologies had the potential to bridge gaps for creatives and was encouraged by online marketplaces that were reaching wider audiences and making art more accessible. As a result of the success achieved in bricks and mortar art fairs, Artbox was invited to exhibit on Artsy, enabling greater flexibility during a global pandemic and international exposure for its stable of artists. Our primary aim is to connect collectors and appreciators of art all over the world directly to our artists, Alex said. When you buy the work, you are buying directly from the artist. When you have a conversation about the work, you are talking to the artist who made the piece. The Artbox Collective does not operate like a traditional gallery which takes a commission from sales, as this gallery is somewhat decentralised and independently run, the artists receive 100% of every sale. Artbox opens the door to the artists studio and allows people to begin a relationship with the artist. We encourage viewers interested in the artworks on the Artbox page to click on contact gallery and ask a question. The person who responds to you will be the artist.
