24.01.2022 Thinking of all the innocent lives lost in the current bushfires. reduction linoprint

23.01.2022 Magpie season is upon us but all the magpies at Gilby's Studio are friendly. Come and see for yourself before they all fly away to new homes! Studio 4 on the southern highlands studio trail. Lots of lovely visitors yesterday, looking forward to many more today. #southernhighlandsnsw

19.01.2022 Finally finished this little dingo scratchboard that i started as a demonstration piece at my studio during the Art Studio trail this year. "Going For Gold ". PS .. I have been completing some Christmas commissions that I cannot reveal right now, but soon right ? (Christmas less than 5 weeks away now ! where did the year go ?)

16.01.2022 I have been fulfilling some Christmas pet portrait commissions that I can't share here (yet), but here is my pastel portrait of "Poppy" which has already been seen by her devoted owner.

16.01.2022 This years Christmas cards! Love, Peace and Joy !

15.01.2022 Latest reduction print of Eastern Quolls, (dark and light morphs) ... I love Australia's less renowned wildlife... unique and threatened on many fronts.

14.01.2022 One of our last outings before the lock-down, closing of national parks etc was to Minnamurra Falls, one of my favourite places. When on the return walk from the falls a large water-dragon jumped/fell from somewhere above me to just miss my head by cms! Luckily my intrepid photographer was with me and was able to capture photos of the handsome creature. Said photographer challenged me to create an artwork of it.... so....I couldn't not ! here it is ...5" x 5" scratchboard

14.01.2022 Diana's lovely little bantam girl became determinedly clucky so Diana obliged her by giving her some eggs to sit. Five lovely little chicks hatched under her care. Knowing that chicks grow and change so quickly, Diana asked me to create a lasting memory of this beautiful brood. This is the result "Diana's Chickens" pastel. (Framed in a frame provided by the doting "mum" )

12.01.2022 Today would have been my mum's birthday, and every year on this day she would remind me that "it's exactly 6 weeks 'til Christmas". So in her honour I made a start (sort of) on my Christmas preparations. I cut a block to make Christmas cards... gave it a run and it works .. phew. If you would like to have a go at printing one for yourself come along to Gilby's, Studio 4 on this years Southern Highlands Art Trail. ( If you use my handmade paper it will be dry enough to take away ) #southernhighlandsartsfile #arttrail2020 #visitmystudio

11.01.2022 This is "Joey" a small 5"x5" scratchboard from a reference photo I took at Sydney Zoo before the covid 19 closures. He/she was a real cutey... hope to go back one day.

10.01.2022 This is "Ebb and Flow" the largest etching I have done ! Just one of the pieces in the "Pressgang" exhibition at the BDAS Art Gallery from 9th - 15th September.... Lots of original prints, encompassing a wide variety of techniques and subject matter ! Because of Covid19 there will be no opening but the exhibition will always be "manned" by artists ready to share information about the artists and techniques. Well worth a visit... never to soon to start that Christmas shopping! See more

10.01.2022 "Quokka Smile" , 5"x5" scratchboard ... reference pic my own taken on Rottnest Island... BC (before corona)

09.01.2022 Little spotted pardelote. one of my favourite little Aussie birds. One nearly landed on my foot, I must have been standing above its nesting burrow. 5"x5" scratchboard.

07.01.2022 My friend Lisa and I are having an exhibition of some of our work at the Strathnairn Homestead Gallery. The opening is tomorrow but the exhibition runs until 8th March. The homestead is a beautiful setting for the gallery which is a lovely place to enjoy a coffee, cake and chat whilst surrounded by original artworks. Feeling privileged to have been accepted to exhibit there.

04.01.2022 "Numbat" this little chap bravely representing his species , on display at Perth Zoo whilst his family behind the scenes producing babies to be released back into the wild. Beautiful little Aussies ! Reduction Linoprint (6 layers using Cranfield Traditional relief inks).

03.01.2022 "Contra Punto", my contribution to the display entitled "Pulse" artists books, by members of the Southern Highlands Printmakers, at the Sturt Gallery Mittagong. The title "Contra Punto" refers to the very different rhythms (pulses) of the natural and man-made environments.

02.01.2022 A pair of Pardalotes, just a couple of the birds spotted in my studio/gallery on this year's Southern Highlands Art Trail. Many flew off to new homes, but this pair and others, still available at Gilby's, Studio 4 on THE TRAIL !

01.01.2022 This is "Frizzle", another piece commissioned by a lovely lady for her partner for Christmas. I hope he liked it ! ( 6" x 6" scratchboard- hand-coloured )
