24.01.2022 More pieces up at ‘Hair By Brad‘s’ new salon on Hutchinson street Mount Barker.

23.01.2022 For all those following along....this is what I’ve done so far for my 1920’s gal! The era of the ‘Flapper’ I thought I’d show you how I generally start my pieces. ... I’ll start by outlining the general shape and then work on the base colour, while building up texture. I use a product called gesso, which is fantastic for texture and coverage. I’ll try posting progress shots of her as I go along

22.01.2022 For Sale: 3 Kings Size 1m X 1m Medium: Acrylic and watercolour on canvas Price: $650... It’s been great getting back into painting again and playing with some new colours. She looks pretty sitting on my gorgeous antique hall table from haven in the hills but I’m happy for her to find a home that’s looking to add some colour to them. I do offer payment arrangements if required.

Can’t wait for the next decade! 1940’s Joan... 1960’s Delilah 8 more to go!!!! #adelaideartist #adelaideart #1940s #nurse #originalart #canvaspainting @ Adelaide, South Australia

18.01.2022 Getting Bigger!!! 1.2m X 80cm Getting creative....2 quotes that have and continue to inspire me to create x ‘An essential aspect of creativity is not being afraid to fail.’ Edwin Land... How often as an artist have I let my fear of failure stop me from progressing or simply starting....It is so important to push through the fear....otherwise we miss out and we will regret! This is a constant battle but a worthy cause. ‘Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it.’ Dee Hock I love this! Making space is an essential part of the creativity process (for me anyway)! Creativity is an extension of yourself... When I find my mind is too cluttered with stuff outside of my control, it will hinder my ability to create....So learning to let go is a must to get the space needed to move forward and create....

17.01.2022 Currently displaying some earlier pieces in my brothers new salon which opens tomorrow Hair By Brad! Now to continue working on some new pieces.

09.01.2022 Work in progress. Working on a sunset piece from my recent mini trips where I have come across some really pretty sky’s loving the pinks and soft orange

07.01.2022 Today I wanted to post on a piece of work my daughter has done. ‘The Joker’ - Medium Pen on Art Paper Size A3... Firstly - This girl is 15! I am in awe of her natural talent. The hours of work that has gone into this piece is astounding- a minimum of 20 hours over a number of weeks. Lils use of the word crazy throughout the piece has helped to create interest, depth, raw emotion and somewhat a shock factor. This piece is created with a single black pen, isn’t it incredible what can be achieved with talent and a pen. Although the Joker is a fictional character - there is something relatable in this piece. No matter how crazy, unique, disturbed and or mad we might be - we all crave and need love! Well done Lil x

07.01.2022 My 2000‘s gal! Inspired by the ‘Lana Del Rey’ one of the gorgeous, talented and inspirational singers to come out of the 21st century. She is one of a kind. Never did I think I would paint people but I’ve loved the challenge so far. It’s has taught me a lot about my painting style and what is unique about it. I love leaning into the chunky textures and bold colours which gives these women a fictional and quirky quality. I’m continuing to learn more and more tips and tricks along this journey. 4/10 done....nearly halfway. I’ll post a group shot of the ladies together. Kel x

03.01.2022 My 1920’s gal is complete! #originalart #adelaideart #adelaideartist #flapper #1920s #acyrilicpainting #canvaspainting #art #paint #10decades

03.01.2022 It’s always exciting to see you’re creations head to their forever homes. Back to the brush!

03.01.2022 The start of the next decade....maybe the earliest one yet.....I’ll try to take more progress shots along the way but I get busy and forgetful...

02.01.2022 It’s been far to long since I’ve painted! However I had inspiration to get the brushes out today. This piece titled Bricks Medium: Acrylic on canvas Size: 90cmX90cm.... This abstract piece is a reflection on the bricks we all build in our lives overtime. Some of them bright and colourful representing the positive memories we share and others darker and more sharp triggering memories of pain, sadness and regret. Although we may like to see some of these bricks removed, they are all there in their place having contributed to the foundation of our character. In the end, it was fun to create x There is no filter applied to the pictures.
