The dictionary says that platypuses is an accepted plural form for platypus or (particularly in scientific and conservation contexts) platypus. The actual Greek plural for platypus is platypodes, but this isn't used in English. The common name "platypus" is the latinisation of the Greek word (platupous), "flat-footed". Over the years, I've asked many people how they say platypus in their lang...uage and the platypus has some very nice names in different languages and an amazing amount of languages that call it 'platypus'. We are seeking additional artists and artist's work to join the Artefacts Inc Gallery co-op, and the platypuses, in the Salamanca Arts Centre.
