19.01.2022 New to the showroom this week is a Mid 20th Century 3 stemmed floor lamp by the very prolific and collectable Australian lighting company Ritelite.

17.01.2022 With Australia Day approaching here is a beautiful historical Australian oil on canvas by Frank Henry Mason. The work was painted in the 1930s after the construction of Sydney Harbour Bridge in 1923. 14.01.2022 It seems that the iconic Starburst clock had a place on the wall in every home in the 1950s. The Atomic era colliding with Mid Century Modern and the arrival of the Space Race. This style was reflected in many of the smaller decorative objects and lamps but not as frequently seen in the furniture.

Vintage delicate pink art glass table lamp, reminiscent of the French company Daum. 12.01.2022 A museum collection Italian designer table lamp by Slamp of Italy decorated with Van Goghs Sunflowers.

12.01.2022 Harald Vike (1906 - 1987) is a Norwegian artist who settled in Western Australia in 1929, in his early 20s. During his life his work was included in the following exhibitions........ West Australian Artists, 1920 - 50, which took place at the Art Gallery of Western Australia in 1980. Aspects of Perth Modernism, 1929 - 1942, which took place at the University of WA in 1986.... After his death in 1987 a major retrospective was held at the Art Gallery of WA in 1990. Today his work is represented in many public and private collections including the Art Gallery of WA, National Gallery of Australia & Holmes Court Collection. The work by Vike featured on Facebook today is entitled Erika reading. It is a rare portrait of Vikes daughter. Gouache on card. Circa 1970. He is internationally recognised as a sculptor working in bronze, aluminium, copper & stainless steel, with works held in both public and private collections.
