25.01.2022 We have teamed up @theleafstore to create some art packs to help get through the rest of school holidays! Each art pack comes with 2 activities inside it, one is a little on the easy side and one is a bit more advanced. Have fun creating a Tutti Frutti face inspired by Giuseppe Arcimboldo & an Ice-cream sundae just because! 20.01.2022 Hello and welcome to the new followers in our creative little community! My name is Lisa and I'm the Splodge Master/Chief Splodger - call me what you like, really, I'm just a big kid who loves art! I started out in fashion and quickly learned it was a bit too stuffy and grown-up for me. I needed to leave the grown-up world to play in the kids world where it's a lot more fun!! ... Then I went back to Uni to become an art teacher and my life has evolved in a fun, creative way ever since! Quite simply, I love creating. I love seeing kids proud faces after they sat down at a table full of bit and pieces, and use their imagination to create a beautiful artwork. I love watching them tick. 18.01.2022 Tips on getting paint out of carpet If it's wet - BLOT do not rub it in. Just blot it with a wet paper towel If it's dry - a little bit of hot water and dishwashing liquid should do the job. Just let it sit for a bit to soften. Use your fingernails or something thin and sharp to scratch the paint off. The stains should come off with a bit of a scrub and more water if needed. ... 01.01.2022 Tips on getting little ones to focus on the task at hand. We know it can be rather tricky to get your little one to commit to a task and stick it out. Here are a few tips to help them focus and get excited about completing their project: Try and give a start and end time or timeframe... Break the big project down into smaller tasks Introduce mindfulness and curiosity to their project. Ask them about the different textures they are using or explore all of the different uses for certain materials Never do art on an empty stomach! These little things will help your little work on their projects and really explore their own curiosity. We'd love to hear any other tips you have! See more
