24.01.2022 Tickets for Sandy Edwards Exhibition opening at TAP Gallery on Tuesday November 10 can be reserved below After curating, advising and mentoring photographers at Stills Gallery and then within ARTHERE Sandy dusts off her early portraits. Sandy Edwards established herself deeply into the photography landscape of Australia - known especially for her portraiture and documentary storytelling. ... During the 1980s Sandy worked as a stringer for The Age Newspaper when they needed a photographer in Sydney. All the celebrities - actors, models, writers, artists, musicians - seemed to pass through Sydney before heading onto Melbourne, so The Age needed a good portrait photographer here to take the shots and send them down. All on film. Hand printed by the photographer, this collection from the artist's archive is a wonderful slice of time. I love this pic of Jane Campion - a sister New Zealander to Sandy - blossoming and confident in her early career. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/sandy-edwards-showing-my-age-t

19.01.2022 Coming soon Pam Kleemann Passi's exhibition that was shown by Arthere at Articulate during Head On Photo Festival last year (2018). A chance to see it for a first or second time. 'The P J Kool exhibition is a series of colourful, life-affirming photographs of the late Congolese musician, Passi Jo, made while he was a cancer in-patient at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne, his adopted home. They reference la sape, a sub-cultural anti-establishment, non-violent movement that he was a part of in his African homeland of Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, and in Paris. La Sape means Society for the Advancement of People of Elegance (from the French "La Societé des Ambienceurs et des Personnes Èlégantes"). It is about harmony in mind, body and soul.'
