24.01.2022 Merilyn Chappel, our resident artist, is working on a series of exciting paintings. Her new exhibition in The Arthouse Pavilion Gallery is called "The Distant Horizon". This painting, "Last of the Light", is a beautiful example of the drama and contrast between light and dark that Merilyn often incorporates in her paintings. Her unique granulation technique is evident in the dramatic sky and her skillful use of colour and design is evident. 23.01.2022 A new artwork has been hung in the gallery! We thought visitors would like to see the numerous materials that go into one of Merilyn Chappel’s artworks - watercolours, gouache, inks. intense blocks, pure pigments and several mediums holding it all together! But it is all about design after all. Take note of the white space in the lower quarter of the painting which balances the focal point near the homestead.
