24.01.2022 Based on the latest advice from the Victorian Chief Health Officer, from 11.59pm on Wednesday (22 July) people in metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire must wear a face mask or face covering when outside of your home. The fine for anyone not wearing a face covering is $200. Our brigade members are usually wearing a mask when attending a fire, it’s surprising how quickly you get used to it.

23.01.2022 In Arthurs Creek we gradually feel the impact of suburbia coming closer. Sadly with that comes theft. In the last few nights, people broke into the Arthurs Cree...k Cemetery breaking locks, cut wiring etc & stealing equipment including a generator that would have taken a few blokes to break it out of its shed & put onto their vehicle. Police have taken fingerprints. If anyone saw anything at all suspicious, please message this page so I can put you in touch with the right people. See more

22.01.2022 Keep an eye out for these!!!

21.01.2022 We would like to announce the safe arrival of the new addition to the Arthurs Creek Strathewen Fire Brigade and our community. Our new storage shed has arrived after a gestation period of 13 months and an extremely difficult 13 months it was. But it is here, and we can all breathe a sigh of relief. They say it takes a community to raise a child, believe us when we say that is nothing compared to the effort it has taken to raise a CFA storage shed in the Arthurs Creek CFA par...king area. It all started with the members of our brigade then the grant givers, on to CFA staff at all levels, local trades, local shed suppliers, our local crane company, our local engineer and then applications to the council. With the support from the Mayor a submission was lodged to the planning department of Nillumbik, planning was granted, then the application for a building permit and finally our flat pack shed was delivered by Adrian Hem’s (a favourite honorary brigade member) son in law. The shed builders were in and out in a couple of days, our local electricians and local plumber will finish things off and then the interior decorating can begin. A massive thanks to all who contributed, including those who had to listen to a little bit (actually quite a lot) of `venting’ along the way. Our shed will be an only child, we cannot afford to lose another 13 months and really one is enough!!!!

21.01.2022 Well worth a look!!

21.01.2022 Its been brought to my attention there have been some inaccurate post’s on Facebook concerning the CFA satellite station in Eden Park. As captain of the Whittle...sea Fire Brigade I can assure the residents of Eden Park that the station is well attended by members that live in Eden Park and Whittlesea. Operational checks of the vehicle and station are made on Sunday mornings and that tanker housed in the station regularly turns out to incidents in Eden Park and Whittlesea. Regards Jeff Rowden Captain WFB 9716 2133

18.01.2022 National Volunteer Week is an opportunity to say a very BIG THANK YOU to all volunteers who give their time to helping their communities when we need them most.... The 2019/20 fire season brought incredible challenges, which we couldn’t have faced without the critical role of CFA volunteers. CFA volunteers are our friends and family and take on many roles to fulfil our mission of protecting life and property. Thank you, not only this week but the 365 days of the year you are there for each and every one of us!

18.01.2022 Our brigade has been fortunate enough to receive some additional equipment to increase our effectiveness in our community. An incredibly generous public!! THANKYOU!!! **donations that were ear marked for particular brigades went directly to those brigades, this program was to distribute funds donated to the ‘CFA’.

14.01.2022 FYI, from our Arthur’s Creek Community Facebook Page:

11.01.2022 Ready to buy this years Christmas Tree?? , head down to Diamond Creek and support the local CFA brigade!!

11.01.2022 A MASSIVE thanks!!!! The Large Animal Rescue team recently assisted one of our local farmers with a steer needing help to stand. We were very keen to help and the process assisted with keeping our training up. ... Every single rescue is different, the animal may be sitting, standing, laying down, upside down or perhaps even trapped in mud, the tractor (for the lift) angle needs to be negotiated around fences, gates and cattle yards, to name a few variables. The Davies family have generously donated the funds to purchase a Downa cow harness for the Large Animal Rescue Unit. We are extremely grateful as will be future animals in need of assistance and of course their owners. Our equipment is very technical and incredibly expensive, it is generally imported and it has been a very long process to gradually acquiring the items we require. A massive thanks to the Davies family, we so appreciate your generosity!!

02.01.2022 Last night at 9.11pm the pager went off advising that a horse had managed to get himself into a ‘pickle’ , (wedged under some pine trees, up against a fence) which he couldn’t get himself out of. Meet Cariad, a lovely old fella who needed the help of CFA Kinglake, SES Kinglake and Arthur’s Creek CFA Large Animal Rescue Unit to give him a helping hand. Local vet Simon Bray administered an appropriate sedation and we pulled Cariad onto our rescue glide and winched him up his paddock to a lovely flat safe place where he could rest up before getting up for his breakfast this morning. We were home by 2am this morning but thrilled we had a happy ending. #kinglakecfa #kinglakeses

01.01.2022 2020.............

01.01.2022 Sharing a post from our neighbours!!

01.01.2022 The Arthurs Creek & Strathewen CFA were thrilled to receive $5000 from the Hurstbridge & Districts Community Bank. The funds will go towards a program called ‘T...raining For The Future’. This will give CFA volunteers the opportunity to obtain accreditation in training and assessment. Once accredited these members can train other members in all aspects of the CFA within their own and surrounding brigades, enabling them to become self-sufficient. See more
