24.01.2022 Well, when improvising, you dont know what language you might have to use, or what language might come out that youd have to be involved with. In other words..., you shouldnt even hear pianos or be near pianos for a while. It should all be, again, a new sound, from almost a primitive beginning. Keith Jarrett, Interview with Art Lange, Downbeat, June 1984

11.01.2022 Amazing and rare photo of a sandpainting. Early 20th century, Western Desert, Australia. Its an amazing and wonderful photo I (BOTOX artist) have never seen b...efore and thats why its shared on this page. I deeply respect Australian Aboriginal arts and culture. If sharing this photo turns out to be a no go, I will take it down immediately. Sorry to hear I did upset some people by sharing this. Turns out the photo is in an open section held in the institute of Aboriginal studies. I was told there are no problems sharing this. Sean Alberts commented: That's Kaapa Tjampijimpa, and yes Michael worked on this as did Billy Stockman, Cliffford Possum, Tommy Rice, Harry Nelson and a couple of other of the original sand painting group who worked with the school teacher at Papunya in the 70's that started the aboriginal art movement as we know it today. Those men did the painting to be photographed, it's nothing more than a map of the Warlpiri, Amatyerre and Luritja country and the interconnecting songlines that are that are pretty much instructions for the map. I spent significant time with a few of these artists back in the late 80's and early 90's, particularly Coomanjai Possum and Tommy Rice. I'm an initiated Warlpiri man I know what I'm talking about, there's some people here banging on about mens business but none of them have been or they would know straight up this aint it... The star looking thing is warlukurlungu, the two sausage looking things are the two Jangala's that stole off their father, behind his back, the man sitting down figure this side of the sausage looking figure, that Jampijima is a Skink man, my fathers Jukkurrpa, same as Old Kaapa. Over on the edge on the right is an Emu footprint, that would be Nyirripi, this is a recurring story all through Warlpiri, Ametyerre and Lurtija art and is an important story that connects these 3 tribes. This is just a really big ass version of it done in proper map form. I'm pretty proud of my countrymens art, i seriously doubt anyone here knows what is and isn't appropriate to be seen to the public than the old men that did this painting and let it be photographed. They were proud too because they talked about it alot... Possibly the last great sand painting done....
