22.01.2022 Then there is me! I started this journey at the age of 17. I did an adult education course at tafe with a leader in our industry at the time. How to frame your pictures! At the time I had aspirations to be an entertainment photographer but this man saw something in me and said if I was ever looking for a job to call him. It wasnt till two years later I took him up on his offer. And thats where the journey began. It took years but the frame took over my life! I...t was 8.5 years ago that I made a huge decision to go out on my own and opened ARTIS PURA Custom Framing. Although my leaving to start my own journey was due to differences I know that had that man (he knows who he is) not seen something in me and given me the opportunities that he did I can not imagine I would be here doing this today! So I say Thank you! ARTIS PURA Mouldings was initially a collaboration between APCF and a business network friend @belaqua_verticalgardens Together with the wonderful Bernd we created an amazing range of mouldings for our own clients. It was only 1.5 years ago we decided this needed to be shared. And APM was born. We could not have created this without Bernd and are forever in gratitude to him. But this you might be thinking doesnt tell you about me. Wrong. I live and breathe this. Framing is who I am. If Im not doing this then I dont know who I am. My goal with ARTIS PURA Mouldings is to bring back the old ways. To bring back local industry. To give framers something beautiful, contemporary and truly Australian. I strongly believe that if our industry is to thrive into the future we must look to the past. We must harness the core of what we are custom. We need to stop competing. Competing with mass consumerism and competing with each other. We need to find our niche, what brings us joy in our work, what is uniquely us and we need to embody that in all aspects of our work. 21.01.2022 What did you get up to today? We took a drive over the border to Billinudgel to see the amazing Stan the woodworker and guitar maker. He was parting with some of his special timbers and of course we love timber. Was worried I would be caught smuggling my Mexican back over the border but we managed to avoid questioning.

08.01.2022 I just want to do a huge public shout out to this amazing guy. Our general manager and all rounder has done a brilliant effort through this crazy Covid time. Not only has he run the warehouse, helped in the studio and done all deliveries and installs he did all this while home schooling our 11 year old, Connor (who is ASD) for 8 weeks. In this time he has made one mistake. (He is human) Yes a mistake is a mistake but in our game (where everything is handmade and run to order not just picked and packed) this is truly wonderful. 01.01.2022 Total wastage on one frame When we say we are committed to sustainability we mean it. Wastage on materials is one of the biggest issues in our industry. Not just on the extra money spent on materials which is then passed on to the retail cost its also landfill and the extra carbon emissions in creating the materials thrown away. When our stockists order we always aim to not oversupply and if they provide us with the sizes of the frames we will make sure we send as close as possible making sure natural defects can be cut around. It means we can use up smaller boards of timber and therefore reducing waste. #buyaustralianmade #sustainability #reducewaste #artispuramouldings
