25.01.2022 This year for the first time the festival has a section in the Horsham Show. Students from our workshops are actively encouraged to submit but any and all entries are welcome. You will be in with a chance to win a prize and a highly sought after show certificate. Entries to be in by this Saturday the 19th of September. The categories are: ... Class 47 Braided Rag Rugs... If it can hold a coffee cup please enter we'd love to see it and appreciate it is a time consuming task. As you only have to submit a photo just tuck the weavers in and take your best pic... Class 48 Solar garden - see the webinar below for instructions on how to make. There are two awards for this category Best Australian Solar Garden and then a highly prized show certificate for the furthest away Solar Garden entered. 23.01.2022 Art is... at the Horsham Show. Competirion entries in their virtual exhibition pavilion are due on Saturday but we will give you until the 25th to get photos in to us of your the Solar Garden....a fantastic school holiday activity!

19.01.2022 Shrugging off the pandemic, Horsham’s community arts festival is celebrating 25 years. This year’s theme of Art Is Still Happening is pertinent as Art Is looks back as well as forward with over the next month at Redrock Books and Gallery on Firebrace St. The exhibition is open during the bookshop’s regular hours (Tuesday to Thursday 10-4, Friday 10-5), until October 3. The early years featured some massive installations on May Park: Balehenge and The Tower of Babble chief am...ongst them, but day and night performances, a connection to the river, activities for young and old(er), a remembering of place have been central. So too the communities that make up our home; drawing on their creativity has been a constant feature of the past 25 years and continues to be an important part of future planning. The exhibition showcases the early years of the festival, with a particular feature being hundreds of photographs of participants enjoying the activities and creations that have made up the festival since its inception. The original photographs are all available to take home for a gold coin donation. Also featuring a genuine Hills Hoist and a very happy crate-free pig.
