16.01.2022 Love at the Artists’ Beach Front, our five bedroom beach front home on beautiful Wonga Beach.. ‘We arrived at Wonga Beach to discover a beautiful house set back from the gorgeous palm-lined esplanade. Open doors with billowing sheer curtains and a breeze blowing in from the Coral Sea, right in front. Tina and Matt’s home is beautifully presented with the most amazing collection of curated objects, found pieces and artwork from around the world. The house is incredibly comfor...table and well equipped with everything that we needed, including a great kitchen with all modern appliances we couldn’t have asked for more. We had a wonderfully restorative 2 weeks in the Artists Beach Front over Christmas and New Year, soaking up the glorious tropical heat and the beginning of the wet season, enjoying the occasional thunderous downpour from the front deck, the perfect spot for getting stuck into a good long book. I can highly recommend a dawn walk (when it’s not too hot) along Wonga Beach with views out to Snapper Island and the Low Isles shimmering on the horizon. The Daintree Rainforest tumbles down to the sea at this very spot with the Daintree River meeting the sea on a huge shifting sandbar at the northern end of Wonga. The pool at the back of the house, facing a wonderful succulent garden, comes into its own in the early morning, late afternoon and even better late at night, for the stars here are something else. There’s no light pollution in Wonga, so the night skies are inky black (on clear nights), allowing the Milky Way to swirl overhead. The stars are so dense and bright that it’s like being in a planetarium, only you’re in your swimming togs and floating in a warm pool. I’ll never forget the night skies at Wonga and the infinite heavens above. Thank-you Tina and Matt, your home is so beautiful, calm and relaxing. We found it incredibly hard to leave but we’ll definitely be back soon. 12.01.2022 Artists Beach House is a fabulous big rambling, tropical beach house that oozes holiday style with space for a big group. The position is such that you really feel like a local! The Four Mile Beach path is literally outside the back gate and you can make a morning of walking in to town to take in the Port Douglas shops. The house has a wonderful design for families and couples could easily have privacy or be close to kids if that’s your preference. The backyard pool provided... hours of fun for us and was big and clean. The leaves from the surrounding trees do drop in but a quick scoop and you’re good to go. We loved the way the house opens up all around so that you could really have a great sense of being amongst the trees in total privacy.
