09.01.2022 Sarrita King spent most of her youth in Darwin and first witnessed the great electric storms of Australia's top end when she was very young. The lightning series of paintings are a reflection and connection to these earliest memories. The Lightning series began in black and white to show the brilliant shock of lightning strikes and the movement of the wind and rain. Slowly, Sarrita started adding colour to her compositions to add a sense of the particular energy in the storms she remembers. Blue conveys the drifting storm that slowly rolls in on the sky. 'Lightning' Acrylic on Linen, 40x40cm
