25.01.2022 When Melbourne Vixen Netball super star mentions you in their Instagram story! Thanks Caitlin! https://www.instagram.com/p/CFUSsHgsdLB/
22.01.2022 I have been tirelessly working hard on an extra pair of special shoes. JARAWEE has been selected as 1 of 3 artists to hand paint these runners for 3 Netball super stars! Caitlin Thwaites, Goal Shooter comes with a astounding rep on the court! To welcome Caitlin Thwaites to our Ngundjin Bulmba -Our Country, I have designed the beauty and the connection we have to our Bulmba I drew on the concept where the Rainforest meets the sea. Showing off the rugged beauty of our Bulmb...a. Growing up my Grandfather Finley Grogan, famous for his forestry days as a timber cutter, boxer and charmer, use to show me how he cut the shape of the shield out of the tree trunk. The many mountains, that is represented on the shoes, my Grandfather travelled cutting timber on Djabgay country. My Nana’s connection to her great, great grandmother, Djabugay woman’s Ngundjin Bulmba runs deep thru her Djabugay country. The fan palm is the many rainforest leaves my grandmother use to use when arranging Guyga(flower). The blue representing where the fresh water meets the sea and the bana(water) that flows down the Barron River over Din Din(Story waters)- Barron falls. It also represents my fathers strong connection to his father’s people the Quandamooka people. As we are connected to land and sea! The Dilly bag represents the women that would gather bush tucker fruit, nuts and berries for the tribe along the Barron River. I would like to thank ASICS, Melbourne Vixens netball team, Caitlin Thwaites for representing our people by playing in these shoes that carries the strong connection to our people, land and water and #Minjil-Carl Fourmile and Mirrindi Schrieber for representing us nth Qld women artists in this opportunity! #melbournevixen #caitlinthwaites #netball #indigenousdesign #djabugay #ngundjinbulmba #ourcountry #grandfathertimbercutter #courtney #greatgreatgrandmother #Nthqldartists #brianaenoch #elverinahjohnson #neritabriscoe

11.01.2022 Sharing this special moment with Sisters #elverinajohnson #nauritapbriscoe . Sharing our stories of the artwork produced on our given runners for the Melbourne Vixen Netball women. Has a had a amazing effect of how every concept of the designs represented what far North Queensland is known for: the Rainforest, Reef and Water. This was not planned! We had a short meeting and we didn’t discuss what we were going to paint. It was God hand in this, he worked it out! I feel amazed how God works, and this is beyond words. Proud to share this moment with the sister

03.01.2022 HOW COOL ARE THESE KICKS! Far North Queensland artists Naurita Briscoe, Briana Enoch and Elverina Johnson were commissioned to paint these shoes for the S...uper Netball Indigenous Round. The collaboration was made possible with the help of the Minjil arts and cultural group based in Cairns. Three Melbourne Vixens players will wear the custom shoes when they play the Queensland Firebirds at the Cairns Pop Up Arena on Sunday. The designs were inspired by the rivers, rainforest and reef of Far North Queensland. The Indigenous Round is themed "A Women's Ceremony - a gathering of many journeys at the same destination". Indigenous female artists will have their work featured on the match ball and players' dresses and shoes.
