14.01.2022 Jo Darvall’s work appears in ‘Nature, as Told by 3 Artists,’ at Art Forum Singapore. Darvall’s ‘Green Lotus’ (2017), painted in collaboration with Singaporean artist Shih Yun, is a gentle monument to post colonial knowledge exchange in an Asia-Pacific context, and explores the permeable interface between the ‘natural’ and the cultural mediations through which we experience and create it. In Issue 53, Ellis spoke with Erin McFadyen about her upcoming show at ANU’s Drill Hall Gallery, which is now open. IMAGE: Nicole Ellis in her studio, photographed by Bryce Thomas.
