21.01.2022 Almost finished Silo No 5 at Colbinabbin but the rain has come. This marks around 40 days of painting so I probably needed a break. Been thoroughly enjoying the job, it’s hard work but I love every bit of it (well almost all of it). I feel very fortunate to do what I love. 19.01.2022 Colbinabbin silo update week 6. I began work on the 4th silo and this is the progress I made up to the Easter weekend. This theme is a depiction of the Colbinabbin annual picnic from. The early 1900’s. Thanks to everyone who obeyed the Covid19 restrictions and social distancing. 16.01.2022 Colbinabbin Silo Art update. Fortunately for me this project has been able to continue as I can work alone. Due to COVID19 we stopped promoting the project as people had started coming in their droves! We had to restrict visitors to the site so the viewing platform was closed and promotion on social media had to cease to stop the flow of visitors. Now that everyone has stopped coming I thought I could keep you all updated here so PLEASE DO NOT visit the site and put yourself ...and others at risk. There will be plenty of opportunity to visit in future when we are through this epidemic. When I last posted I had completed the steam train on the double concrete silos. Since then I have completed the first of four steel silos with the old Colbinabbin train station that sat opposite the silos. 11.01.2022 This is my piece for this years Window to Window festival in Benalla. Thanks to the organisers and willing businesses and organisations to allow us to freely express ourselves as artists, I love this about Benalla! The overwhelming support expressed yesterday by locals not to mention the lifetime of experience David Attenborough has brought to us, is encouraging that we can make a difference. 10.01.2022 A few photos of the final painting on the Colbinabbin silos. Been a great experience made some new friends, got to work along side my son Jake. Through a lot of hard work and meetings i think the results speak for themselves. Definitely not worth rushing these projects. 08.01.2022 Half way through the 6th and final silo in Colbinabbin. This design celebrates the very successful Tractor Pull competitions from the 80’s. This particular tractor named Black Velvet was a jet propelled! The Colbinabbin community had expected around 4,000 spectators but saw more than 20,000 show up. 06.01.2022 Progress on Colbinabbin silos continued this week on silo 5 with a depiction of ‘Lu Lu’ the local 1947 Austin fire truck with the channel bridge in the background.
