19.01.2022 First canvas is finished! Here’s a little video to take you into a great weekend The inspiration for this work comes from a photo I took from the side of the highway between Springsure and Emerald in the Carnarvon Gorge area. This is my first experiment using a limited palette and I found the exercise a challenge but I’m happy with the result. 17.01.2022 ‘Promise’ inspired by the Warrumbungle Range and the clouds scooting overhead with the promise of rain that wouldn’t come. 17.01.2022 Part 10 of 10 - Fun. The houses in Burano, Venice made me smile, vibrant colours stacked in rows beside canals. Reminiscent of a time in our childhood when life was full of joy and happiness! This painting makes me smile and remember that time fondly. Inspired by my trip to the island of Burano, Venice Italy I painted this during a camping trip in Australia to the Burdekin. I set up my easel and enjoyed the peace and serenity of painting under the shade of a paperbark tree. This painting features in my online exhibition ‘Not Far From Home’ on my website. I hope you enjoyed this 10 part series during this time of world isolation and unrest. #artmuntalunga #nature #burano #artwork #iso #venice #artist #onlineexhibition #supporttownsvillelocals #townsvillesmallbusiness
16.01.2022 Fabulous 3 day Portrait workshop with the talented Andrew Bonneau. Wow! What an amazing teacher! Fabulous to see so many familiar faces and catch up. Didn’t get my portrait finished but definitely a great starting point - wouldn’t want to waste the oils

09.01.2022 Part 5 of 10 - Peace. Belonging, and that sense of connection, we all need to connect, to belong and find peace. This ancient Celtic sacred site nestled amongst the tree's in a druidic grove in Scotland is a place of remembrance with burial cairns dated 4000 years ago. In the clearing you can see one of standing stones that formed the stone circle. This ancient Celtic site gave me a real sense of belonging, a connection. Sending you all my thoughts and prayers and the hope that you can find some inner peace in these uncertain times. This painting is available in prints on my website as part of my online exhibition’Not Far From Home’. #townsvillesmallbusiness #artworks #scotland #teavel #natureheals #naturehealsthesoul #belonging #peace #innerpeace #gratitude

05.01.2022 Part 9 of 10 - Tenacity. Now is the time to stop, breathe, stand tall and don't give up. This painting titled, ‘Come What May’ is available as a print in my online exhibition ‘Not Far From Home’. Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, too many things swirling in your mind demanding your attention and at this moment life may seem tragic. Like a tree in Autumn, life can be in transition. Come what may better days will bloom. Trees are like books, recording life’s events within their bark. This huge old tree was in the grounds of Blair Atholl Castle in Pitlochry Scotland. It makes me wonder what memories, events and souls from another time are encased in this old tree. What words of wisdom would she pass on? #scotland #tenacity #comewhatmay #artwork #artmuntalunga #tree #nature #gratitude #library #wisdom

03.01.2022 What brings you a feeling of peace? For some it’s the gentle repetitive sound of waves caressing the sand . 02.01.2022 Part 8 of 10 - Gratitude. It’s important to show gratitude and celebrate life with friends. Prints of this painting ‘Celebrate’ are included in my online exhibition ‘Not Far From Home’. During this pandemic I sincerely hope that eventually people will be able to replace some of the bad memories by creating new ones. ‘Celebrate’ was painted from an evening spent with friends at a villa in Tuscany. Together we drank wine, ate great Italian food and soaked up the gorgeous sunset nature provided. A visual reminder that life is precious and no matter how bad things may seem show gratitude and celebrate being alive, after each sunset is a brand new day.
