25.01.2022 Do you remember doing clay in high school? Join me and the gals from @The Artspace Collective for a chance to unwind without Netflix. To get you in the zone Purerelaxation will guide us through a ten minute relaxation then I will guide you to making these simple little pinch pots and trinket trays.

23.01.2022 We help kids like yours find their inner STRENGTH HERO

20.01.2022 If you are of a certain age, Sesame Street and Playschool were part of your childhood. We help kids to learn. Learn that learning is not a straight line and there are challenges that make you feel bad, like giving up. I love how these kids are smiling, all of those BIG emotions have been replaced by the pride of mastering a new skill. We particularly love the little girl who turned her sun into something else! Next time your child is struggling with something, try asking them what happened the very first time they tried riding their bike.

18.01.2022 What could you get done in an hour or two to yourself? Catch up on emails or get to that job that has been persistently hanging on your to do list? A number of parents have contacted me to let me know they have got just that when our art kits arrived. One mum bought two of Architect kits, one for her Miss Creative and one as a birthday present for her friend. Yesterday the two had a "design and construct" meeting over Zoom that lasted over two hours. Today, the mum let m...e know they were back at it with fresh designs and Lego minifigures. I love that Miss Creative (age 10) has used designed in a totally different way than our Design Director ever imagined. 13.01.2022 Our online term classes were a great way to incorporate power point and screen scribble. Here I could demonstrate to the kids on the screen the differences in light hitting the object. The kids really responded to the challenge of shading with pencil and paint. #onlinedrawing #zoomart #covidart

11.01.2022 At Strength Heroes our focus is to get kids to try. Over the years parents have told us that this usually translates to changes in other parts of kids lives. One of them is trying new foods. This week I have been exploring how to tap into your childs curiousity so they come to the table and try new foods. Sports dietician Julie Meek shares her wisdom and approach. https://www.strengthheroes.com.au/blog-strength-heroes

06.01.2022 Resilient parents make resilient children. This explains the fundamentals really well.

05.01.2022 Does your child struggle with separation anxiety? While it is normal, it can be very stressful for parents and children, especially when you arrive somewhere to drop them off and they start to cry or are clinging on to you for dear life. Since the COVID 19 social distancing restrictions have been lifted we also know that many children are a little bit more clingy and given everything that has been going on that is perfectly normal. I am still trying to make sense of the w...hole thing so I feel for our kids. With the holidays coming up, your child may love the idea of going to a friends for a playdate or doing a workshop but may also be worried about leaving you. That may lead to your child choosing not to go which means they miss out on all the fun and social development offered by playdates, workshops or even just staying at Nannas. In this weeks blog, I have put together my tips for how you can help your child (and you!) before, when you arrive and after whatever event to help them be more confident and cope with the BIG emotions that come with becoming independent. 03.01.2022 ART IS EVERYWHERE. Being playful is in our nature and making others smile only takes a moment. All we have to do is give ourselves permission to do things another way. I love this piece that was created by Miss 14 for our Master Designer (aka her Dad)
