22.01.2022 Join us and become an Art on Show Volunteer 2020 Volunteers Program NOW OPEN Mackay Show Association is seeking art lovers and enthusiastic dedicated individuals, who would like to be part of our exciting team of Art on Show volunteers, working on Mackay’s prestigious art prize and exhibition, the Woollam Constructions Art on Show Awards 2020. Volunteers assist staff with the preparation, manning and dismantle of our fifteenth arts event. Arts volunteering is a great way ...to meet like-minded individuals, gain new skills, engage with local artists and the community, and we offer references for individual resumes, or for senior art students a certificate of appreciation. A great opportunity for those with spare time, willing to give back to the community, plus each volunteer receives a complimentary pass to the Mackay Regional Show, and an invitation to the official exhibition opening night, Tuesday 16 June 2020, commencing 6.30pm. 09.01.2022 Don’t Miss Artspace Mackay Director Tracey Heathwood Director’s Choice: Artists’ books Now on 11am 12pm, in the Art on Show Pavilion. Meet Artspace Mackay Gallery Director Tracey Heathwood and see her present a selection of her favourite artists’ books from the Mackay Regional Council Art Collection. Artspace Mackay houses almost 600 artists’ books from this collection and every two years hosts a national artists’ book prize, the Libris Awards, which attracts the very best artists’ books being created today. Tracey has a long association with the gallery and its collection of artists’ books and is herself a practicing printmaker. She will share personal insights into some of her favourite artists and artists’ books.
