10.01.2022 "Hi, my name is Wayne. When Redcliffe Learning and Lifestyle hub was shut down because of COVID-19 I had to stay home. Sometimes I like being at home but I miss...ed coming to the L&L and seeing my family for a while. I rang my mum and my sister lots to keep in touch and kept myself busy and safe. During the restrictions, I found an artistic side I didn't know I had and painted some great works of art. I am a very social man and I missed talking to people so it's great to be back and I'm looking forward to going back to the men's shed and going out on the bus." Our Learning and Lifestyle hubs are designed to help people with intellectual disability identify goals for daily living, community participation, learning, and building relationships and of course having fun! 09.01.2022 Had to call in Woodford’s Top Models for a photo shoot today for #mbrit thanks Dom for making us all look good. #woodfordmuseum #artonwoodford #visitmoretonbayregion Putting Woodford on the map

09.01.2022 The biggest thing I’ve learned about chronic pain is that distraction is key, so I’m always keeping my mind busy. Andrew Evans has a life-long passion for art... and expresses his sense of humour and creativity through mouth drawing. Never one to be boxed in, Andrew explores varying mediums from drawing on paper with a pacer or using his iPad and Apple Pencil with the Procreate app. You can find his inspiring work across Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram, search for the Smart Mouth Art Read more about Andrew’s story in the Spring issue of The Advocate (Page 12) at https://bit.ly/2TsjsaP

08.01.2022 Love this https://ab.co/2EOBGPC Brissie artist Sharron Tancred creates murals for aged care residents and people with dementia, drawing on her background in g...raphic design, illustration, interior decorating and colour psychology. She uses luminous colours to enable people with dementia to see and take on the "cues" of the mural. The idea is to encourage the person to approach the welcoming part of the artwork, and in doing so, move them away from dangerous areas like behind doors. : Sharron Tancred

08.01.2022 Thank you Adrian and Kerri for donating a pot and plant for our museum and gallery #artonwoodford #woodfordmuseum #adrianraedel

07.01.2022 The best way to enjoy Van Gogh's painting "The Starry Night" 1.- Look at the spiral for 20 seconds without looking away . 2.- Look at the painting fixedly .

06.01.2022 Something we’ve always been very wary of is to have enough room in the museum and art gallery to allow for wheelchair access and accessible entry. Today Dane fr...om #spinallifeaustralia visited to check our accessibility out. The region wide Tourism Accessibility Audit has been funded by the #moretonbayregionalcouncil community grants.
