25.01.2022 After nearly 10 months, countless hours and pennies spent, our development application has been approved. The consent has given us approval to host our regular Art Openings in the Post Office. It will also give us consent to build a deck for disabled patrons of the Uki Public Hall and Uki Post Office, restore the 110-year-old heritage listed Post Office building and use a window in Bastion Lane (between the Post Office and Uki Public Hall) as a serving point, providing an a...lternative access to pickup mail, parcels and purchase take away coffee. Thank you to every one who supported us through this journey. Special thanks goes to Anthony Rose Architects, Susan Kinneally, Diane Michael, Julia Collingwood, Holly Norton, Anne Barton, the fabulous Uki Post Office Team (Pip, Laura & Marli), Cr Pryce Allsop, Cr Warren Polglase and especially Gary’s Mum & Dad. 22.01.2022 Only two sleeps until the return of our favourite picnic. This Thursday (3rd September) Vietnamese Lotus and Gunter’s Wood Fired Pizza return to treat and tantalise our tastebuds. We are set for a great evening with special entertainment by a ‘Picnic’ favourite, Phil & Tilly. Picnic in the Park serves the finest food from local food vans. It’s on from 4-8pm in the park next to the Uki Post Office and Uki Hall. Picnic in the Park is on the first Thursday of every month. Please remember to adhere to social distancing requirements. We know the past several weeks have been extremely difficult and wanted to let you know we are putting our beloved Art Post Uki into hibernation. This is in line with the NSW Health Department’s recommendations. - We will be temporarily closing the Art Post exhibition space. - All future exhibitions have been postponed until further notice. - Essential services remain open. These ...include the Uki Post Office, Bastion Lane Espresso Bar and Bastion Lane Roastery. 13.01.2022 Welcome back to Art Post Uki’s mini-series ‘Monday’s with David Preston.' We have decided this episode will our last for a while as we will be hibernating, like all well-behaved people. With that said, this week, Presto is isolated in the house up the stairs, and is missing his regular double shot latte @bastionlane Janie, the brave photographer, delivered the wet half-finished painting, and replaced last weeks Sunflowers. ... When Janie arrived home the first thing she did was wash her hands. The Post must go on, so the Office is staying open. The new painting, A Stairway to Isolation maybe appreciated by all, but only one person at a time...on the way to pick up the mail and a @bastionlane takeaway. 10.01.2022 Last Friday Art Post had the pleasure of hosting a delightful group from Renaissance Tours (Renaissancetours.com.au). Their tour leader Gitte Weise and the group were given a tour of the Post Office by Post Master Gary Wall and curator Susan Kinneally, and enjoyed the famous house coffee Bastion Lane.
