In Anatolia, rugs of this quality with all natural dyes and well drawn intricate designs were often made as a part of a bride's dowry and kept in a dowry chest for decades without being used on the floor and passed on to daughters and grand daughters. We were so fortunate to acquire this exceptional example of textile art in a such a pristine condition while on our latest visit to Turkey
