24.01.2022 WARNING Tear jerking story ahead. Yesterday during the breakfast rush I got told there were 2 ladies out the front dropping off some produce. Not expecting any deliveries on a Saturday, I was a bit baffled but when I came out of the kitchen I was surprised to find a young lady and her mum with 2 large shopping bags. Turns out that the young lady (Sia) took $20 of her own pocket money and asked her mum to help her go to the shops and buy ingredients for us to make meals for... We Are Community Incorporated . I must admit that a small leak appeared in my eyes. ( better call a plumber). Troy and I got straight to it after lunch and managed to cook 42 meals. @Siasonamission bought smart, very smart. Young people like Sia show us all the beauty of kindness and caring. 22.01.2022 Despite a busy week, Troy, Rose, Emily and myself still knocked out meals for the community. We feel blessed to feel useful in these times.

21.01.2022 It's been a while but we finally found some time to get back to cooking for the community. 150 healthy, tummy filling veggie bolognese with pasta going out to those in need. Whilst for many of us it seems like life is going back to how it used to be, there are many amongst us who are still struggling to get by.

20.01.2022 We had a great night cooking for Community Connect MacArthur. We managed to knock out 250 meals. Our chefs Troy and Hans worked under the expert guidance of our resident currie queen Rose. All ingredients paid for by customer donations (you know who you are ) and generous contributions from our awesome veg suppliers Grima Bros Wholesale Produce. Next time you shop there, give those brothers and their staff a covid appropriate elbow or a thank you. They are amazing.

We managed to make 100 pumpkin curries for the price of a bag of rice and some spices. Next time you run into Helen or Anne Marie from Macarthur Centre For Sustainable Living ,give them a heartfelt covid friendly elbow. These ladies are doing wonders for the community and our planet. 14.01.2022 Namaste When we received a very generous donation from our yoga teacher and friend Shanti #aumunlimitedyoga and her wonderful mum Veronica, we couldn't think of anything better than a serious curry night dedicated to one of the most caring and calming people we know. ( yes, Shanti of course) With the $100 donation, Rose, Max and I managed to cook 125 delicious Potato, Chickpea and Pea curries and 125 of Sri Lankan Dahl. Rose has spent years perfecting her Dahl recipe and it's a cracker. It was an absolute pleasure to cook as a family and of course finishing the evening sitting down to delicious curry dinner. @#wearecommunityinc

01.01.2022 With Spring comes hope. It's been rather quiet in the cafe this last week, but we know it's because people are reluctant to go out and they are doing the right thing. We are using the quiet time to work on new menu items, refine our coffee skills, plan for the future and of course to cook more meals for those that are less fortunate than us. If you do want to come in, rest assured that we are as covid safe as can be and are going to great lengths to keep everyone safe. We can't wait to get back to normal but for now, let's do what needs to be done to get there as fast as we can. As Joel says, "Bloody Corona Virus"

01.01.2022 We've got Election Fever. But we want you to have your say. Let's introduce the candidates. First of course it's the Trump. A classic cheesy American with real 100% (not fake) beef, our beautiful, seriously folks, it's .......really beautiful burger sauce, crispy onion rings, aged cheddar , lettuce and a pickled carrot toupee. On a pure white bun.... And next, the Biden Burger Wholesome herb and garlic crumbed chicken breast on a bun with fresh cucumber, lettuce and old fashioned pickled slaw. All brought together with sensible, articulate Aioli. We'll cook the burgers, you choose. Together as Australians, we can make eating burgers great again.
