20.01.2022 New exhibition in our IRL (In Real Life) window gallery show opens this week with Luci Callipari-Marcuzzo, Anna Callipari, and Christian Marcuzzo. The embroidery works in "Threads trace the past, present and future" have been co-created between Luci, her mother Anna and son Christian, tying multi-generational practices together and forming a polyphonic dialogue. "The threads which started in Italy all those years ago still weave through our lives connecting us back to a mome...nt, a time, and a place. Our family, through these intergenerational works, has been able to keep not only a craft and a skill alive, but also that special connectedness of sharing knowledge and memories. These contemporary visual forms therefore allow our family to share with you those treasured moments." 24 September- 8 October 2020 museum of innocence Mildura Include us on your daily walk, run, or coffee route to 'visit' the gallery through our front windows, and join us in celebrating the work of local artists during Covid-19.
19.01.2022 Include Arts Mildura on your exercise, shopping, or coffee route during Stage 3 restrictions - our gallery doors are temporarily closed once again, but we have lifted the veil on our windows instead. Four local artists/art collectives will be sharing work in a rolling exhibition: each Saturday a new exhibition will be on display in our windows at 31-33 Deakin Ave. Featuring the work of Susan Dimasi, Geoff Brown, Josh Taylor, and ArtRageUS. While much of our lives must take place digitally during the pandemic, so much of the art we make and absorb remains physical. Stay safe and see you soon.
19.01.2022 Arts Mildura wants to learn about the impacts of Covid-19 on artists and creative communities in regional Victoria. We've created this very short survey to address this current gap in research on how the pandemic is affecting artists. We'll use the anonymous data for funding applications, and to inform our own programming going forward. If you have a few minutes to fill it out, we'd just love that :) Thankyou so much - and we can't wait to welcome you back in person very soon.

12.01.2022 Meet studio artist and the newest addition to our fam at Deakin Ave, Josh Taylor. Welcome Josh! <3 "Joshua M. Taylor is a would-be multidisciplinary artist and cartoonist who’s practice plays with clichés of highbrow and lowbrow, mixing and matching references taken from fine art, Saturday morning toons, niche internet fandoms and queer history to create a body of work designed with brutal honesty in mind work often dealing with mental illness, sexuality, social dysfunction... and maladaptation. Josh mangles cardboard, ruins all available surfaces and half-asses video editing programs to make an unholy mess, and will be continuing to do so in the Arts Mildura space. Expect uncomfortable eye contact, stylized cartoon violence and naked dog people, usually all at once." The Arts Mildura building has been undergoing a makeover. We're renovating our studio spaces for artists seeking a home for their practice. If you and your practice are looking for a base, be it a private studio or co-working space, reach out - we'd love to hear from you.

08.01.2022 In our next webinar we'll be talking about art in the time of Covid-19 and capitalism. The pandemic has meant a huge loss of revenue, funding, opportunities, and access to audiences for artists. If art is, however, something we can’t imagine ourselves not doing what next? Our talented panel will explore models and motivations for making art without money as the currency. Hope to see you there! Free registration in the link below.
06.01.2022 Congrats to these legends! Arts and Culture so strong here in the Mallee

02.01.2022 The students of the Certificates II & III in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Arts (ATSICA) at SuniTAFE, Sunraysia Institute Of TAFE have brought the stunning latest instalment of our IRL window exhibition. They say: earlier this year we collected natural reeds, bark, gum nuts and seeds as part of our sculpture unit. We then processed and dried some of our natural products to use in our weaved baskets. Include Arts Mildura on your walk or coffee run over the next three weeks to take in this incredible showcase of emerging local Indigenous contemporary artists. Thanks to Sarah Newall and Laree Hills for bringing it together!
02.01.2022 This week’s instalment of our rolling IRL (In Real Life) exhibition features an incredible collection of mixed-media work from Artrageus Studio artists. Walk by our front windows from now til 4 Sept to see it in person. These works were created in a 2019 weaving workshop with Wentworth artist Anne Hedericks. Twigs and small sticks gathered from the bush were used as simple looms on which various coloured wools and found materials were woven in free form fashion. The artists t...hen used the weaving as inspiration for a series of drawings and paintings. ArtRageUs is a program of the Christie Centre which provides an environment allowing people of all abilities to express themselves through performing and visual arts. Artists freely explore their own interests and themes through their art with qualified art instructors on hand to offer assistance and guidance when artists feel it is needed.
02.01.2022 We're excited to announce our new Executive Director, Xenia Hanusiak festival director, curator, cultural diplomat, and executive behind performance programs, literary festivals and ideas summits for every major Australian festival, and myriad programmes worldwide. ‘I'm honoured to return to Mildura in this new role,' Hanusiak said. Mildura first carved a special place in her career when she contributed to five Mildura Wentworth Arts Festivals. 'I am delighted to accept ...the role of Executive Director, and to embark on this new adventure in Mildura on the land of the First People of the Millewa Mallee.’ 'On behalf of the Board I am thrilled to welcome Xenia Hanusiak. Arts Mildura is poised to make a quantum leap both in its breadth of programming and in the relevancy of the artists and the projects we will present from 2021,' Domenico de Clario, Chair, Arts Mildura.
