09.01.2022 Last year, we gathered some of Australia’s most exciting South Asian artists for a night of music, dance, comedy and poetry. We cannot emphasise enough how much joy was packed into that space, but we can give you a tiny peek into what the night looked like. Over the next few weeks, we will be introducing you to our performers. First up, we have Akalanka Pedro Cooray, Sunanda Sachatrakul, Aparna Ananthuni, Maiyurenthan Srikumar, Kirshan Sabeshkumar, and Kanus Mukunthas. Dada-...Desi 2019 featured 12 emerging and established artists in a night of stellar performances inspired by or connected to the South Asian diaspora in Australia. It was co-curated by Nithya Iyer and Vidya Rajan in collaboration with the Sangam and presented at Dancehouse, Melbourne Australia. Our 2020-2021 season is coming to you very soon! 06.01.2022 Many happy faces as we wrap up our first set of workshops with Sri R.K. Shriramkumar and our senior participants! It was truly a unique experience to explore some rare works of Sri Muttuswami Dikshitar as written in Subbarama Dikshitar’s work, the Sangita Sampradaya Pradarshini. RKS Sir’s deep understanding of these rare works, the ragas and musicology more broadly is quite something to behold. Thank you to all our participants and we send our gratitude to Sir for his generos...ity. Like and follow our page for all our updates!
