24.01.2022 Hello everyone Here is a little project that I, (TAM) am organising... it is part of an event I am running as part of my last EVER assessment for the Creative & Performing Industries component of my degree at Newcastle University. The event is ‘Central Coast Dress Up Your Dog & Walk 2020. It is a day of Community, Connection, Collaboration & Colour! I am putting out the call to all artists to come join in the fun and create a visual diary of the day. Artists are invited to b...ring their gear and chose a scene, whatever they would fancy, and paint or create a piece which will be photographed and put into a booklet to document this ‘PAWsome’ day! All participating artist will be presented with a copy of this booklet as a keepsake of the event. There is a prize of a frame donated by ‘Blackbird Framing’ at Long Jetty NSW. You don’t have to consider yourself a great artist. The day is about connecting to creativity, which we have in us. It is FREE to participate. Your judges will be children. I think that children have the unique ability to FEEL an artwork. They have an intuitive skill for actually really seeing a piece and this is the theme of the day. We are looking for up to 10 artists (18 years and over) to help us bring the street alive with colour at the Waterfront P...laza, The Entrance on February 22nd. You will be given the opportunity to attend a 2 hour workshop with master 3D artist, Anton Pulvirenti, followed by a day to create your own pavement artwork based on the theme ‘Fun in the Sun’ at Waterfront Plaza, The Entrance. No previous experience with chalk is necessary all levels of experience welcome and entry is FREE! 12.01.2022 Hi everyone Checkout this awesome work by ‘Dom’ ... and the little pooch cooling his feet in the heat today on the ice cubes down at The Entrance. This awesome ...work is part of the ‘Chalk the Walk’ festival being held in conjunction with Central Coast Council by Zest Events. The artists of Zest are busy at it preparing for Saturday’s events. I attended a workshop tonight in prep for my participation in the event. Got quite a few handy tips and met all the people involved. I am hoping all the tips didn’t get lost In translation and will manifest on Saturday ... fingers crossed... if they don’t I know it will be an awesome day anyway! 06.01.2022 Good morning everyone Today is our last day of trading as Artspace Umina at 204 West Street! We popped up over a year ago for what we thought was a couple of months but we have been fortunate enough to have this wonderful space until today! What a ride it has been... a learning curve for all and we have all thoroughly enjoyed our time at Umina! We are open from 10 to 4 pm today and have the champagne on ice. If you are out and about today call in and day hello... and goodby...e to this space. We have had such a fantastic time and have enjoyed every minute of our time here. We want to thank all our regulars who just pop in and say hello and all of our customers who have supported us along the way... there are many houses which display the awesome talent of our local artists. What an adventure it has been! Stay tuned with this page for where we will be popping up next... and we hope to see you all at Artspace today after 1 pm to raise a glass with us, swap stories and celebrate the success we have all had because of this awesome venture! 05.01.2022 Hello everyone Below in the pics is an example of the beauty seen in trash. I was ‘Rd side finding’ with my youngest grandson Ollie yesterday after school. I wa...s eyeing off an old rocking chair when my grandson picks up this rusty old metal strapping and asked ‘do you want this to make something NaN?’ I have never been prouder! And as excited when I saw what he was holding... I have taught him well... this strapping will definitely make the cut in a future piece... perfection! 01.01.2022 Hello Everyone Three of the Artspace artists are currently involved in the WIA exhibition of which they all took out a prize! The WIAs is running until the 22nd of March at Norberta st, The Entrance. Why don’t you pop on down and checkout this exhibition. Tammy is coordinating the exhibition for Tuggerah Lakes Art Society which is supporting female creatives on the Central Coast. On the last day of the exhibition there will be artisan markets from 10 am to 4 pm which are also... a celebration of creatives on the Central Coast. There is a wide range of products available like local delicious honey available... There is exciting news coming so stay tuned... all will be revealed very very soon!
