20.01.2022 We are closed but have lovely art hanging on our walls for you to buy! You can make an individual appointment with our President Liane by sending an email..... Todays artist is Jeni Jobe - ceramic Artist Cups are $65 each and the Large platter is $215... Jeni is from San Remo and is standing for council this year! here is a little bit about her ...... I have worked in Melbourne as a commercial graphic artist since 1995. In late 2014 my family and I moved to San Remo in Bass Coast. My illustrative approach to design solutions has been embraced and I have had the opportunity to work with some fantastic local organisations and businesses and have met some incredibly passionate people! I started working with ceramics in early 2016 after co designing our new home using Illustrator. The urge to create more in 3D was a compulsion I had to explore further, I hand work stoneware clay using slab-building, rolling and pinching to create functional ware and sculpture. I twice fire the clay to create durable long lasting pieces. I am drawn to art that has a narrative. Illustrations are etched through and on underglaze using a high fire stoneware, creating work that is unique and emotive. My art practice is heavily influenced by my social conscience. My belief that we have a wider responsibility to contribute to the good of our community, from simple acts of picking up rubbish in our path, to larger efforts of joining groups that advocate change and clearer decision making. I am blessed to live in a community that is filled with caring and compassionate activists.

01.01.2022 When Ray Dahlstrom and Mary Schoonevelt turned out the lights at ArtSpace yesterday (Thursday) they were both closing the door on many years of service to the Arts community, the Bass Coast community in general and, indirectly Bass Coast Shire Council. Mary's service dates back to the original Wonthaggi Information Centre and Ray has volunteered at ArtSpace for many years. Both of them have worked hard to promote Art and Tourism across the region and they will be greatly mis...sed though they will both remain very active with other Art and community projects. As well as creating 2d and 3d artwork and running his own Gallery, Ray is working on exhibitions of his work in other Gippsland Shires. Mary has a leadership role at U3A and will continue to be heavily involved in the Goat Island Gallery. Ray and Mary will be missed and the other BCAS and ArtSpace Volunteers and Artists wish them well as do I. Ursula Theinart, ArtSpace Curator and Geoff Ellis, BCAS & ArtSpace President presented Mary and Ray with a letter of thanks and a token of appreciation during their final shift. ArtSpace Wonthaggi is open 7 days a week, from 10am to 4pm - Geoff Ellis, BCAS & ArtSpace President
