08.01.2022 Tasmanian artist Keith Dougall was commissioned to create a suspended glass art installation at Royal Hobart Hospital through the Tasmanian Government Art Site Scheme. Suspended in the new K-Block reception area of Royal Hobart Hospital, the artwork is comprised of over 300 human breaths captured from patients, visitors and staff, and sealed into uniquely shaped hand-blown glass bubbles. 03.01.2022 Congratulations to all the recipients of our latest Individuals and Groups funding round. Among the 60 Tasmanian artists to directly benefit from this years program is award winning writer and musician Sam George-Allen. Sam will use the support to develop a five episode podcast that focuses on the craft of non-fiction writing, accompanied by a literary journal to publish listeners stories.... The project is designed to develop interest in the non-fiction genre, provide examples and context for the form, and equip listeners with useful tools for getting started on documenting their own true stories. 03.01.2022 Arts Tasmania managed a call out for Tasmanian artists to design a contemporary trophy that celebrates the heritage of the Tasmanian tourism industry. Alex Miles’ design was selected from 16 submissions and features a stone base and Tasmanian timber incorporating illustrations of Tasmanian leaves and flowers.
