19.01.2022 ARTS TOODYAY - ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING The Arts Toodyay AGM was held last Tuesday evening (6th October). It was great to see a few new members come along, hear VINO coordinator feedback, receive the President annual update and participate in the election of officer bearers. The Arts Toodyay Inc executive committee for the coming year:... President - Graham Boston Vice President - Ruth Silvester Secretary - Frank Farmer Treasurer - Margaret Sommerville Committee - Lisa-Marie Visioli, Prue O’Dae, Roz Davidson, Stephen Hill and Sean Byron A few words: OUTGOING President Ruth Silvester: It has been an honour and joy to work with our small committee. When I thought we had a hurdle someone would always have a solution, usually a simple one at that. Thank you all for making Vino: Arts Toodyay Inc 15th Anniversary Exhibition 2020 fun and successful.... Thank you Frank, Michael, Angus, Dennis, Colin, Graham, Peter, Sean and Lui for all the heavy lifting, hanging of works and the reception duties which were shared with our beautiful ladies Ruth, Michelle, Nuala, Lee, Eleanor, Margot, Di, Karen, Keran, Sally, Sue, Dee, Peta, Georgia and Gemma. 01.01.2022 Vino Arts Toodyay Inc. 15th Anniversary Exhibition - Judges of all Art prizes and ‘Best in Show’ winner. A huge thanks and appreciation to our amazing VINO event judges: Georgia Efford OAM is a retired lecturer in Art History at Curtin University. She is an established artist, working across mixed media. She exhibits in group shows. More recently her work in oils has been related to an enquiry into Australian bush/botanical subjects. She has been a judge for many local art ...awards across Western Australia.' Peter Efford is a retired senior lecturer in Design at Curtin University. He is noted for his work in figure drawing, along with his regular, pre covid art visits with groups to Bali. He is the co-facilitator of Figure Arts Bassendean. Since 2001 he has regularly offered workshops on drawing and visual communication. He exhibits drawings annually and is also a landscape painter. He has been a judge for many local art awards across Western Australia. Vino Event Coordinator Margaret Sommerville said It was such a wonderful experience having Georgina and Peter as our 2020 Judges as they shared their vast experiences and wisdom with us. There were over 230 pieces of art presented to a large enthusiastic group of art lovers. The Exhibition is unique with many artistic mediums, sculptor, pottery and craft all of high interest and excellent quality. Saturday - the first day - saw many art lovers through the exhibition creating new records of attendance. A very robust start indeed. Winners of the 8 awards will be your surprise viewing announced in a following post. The exhibition runs until Monday 28th at Coorinja Winery Toodyay Rd, Toodyay.
