25.01.2022 Drawing can be the core method of researching, developing and communicating ideas. We do observational drawing regularly to fine tune skills and to help students to see correctly. It is easy to look and not really see.

22.01.2022 Grade One Chameleons!

22.01.2022 You may remember that we created paper quilts with Grade 2 last term. Today Levi shared a small quilt that his grandmother made. We talked about how it was put together, the colours and patterns that were used and we looked at all the small hand sewn stiches around the border. What wonderful connections in so many ways. A big thank you to Levi and his grandmother for sharing this with us.

16.01.2022 I would recommend that every child have their own scissors suited to their hand. Children enjoy cutting paper. They love to cut things out and make shapes. The more practice they have the better their skills.

11.01.2022 Khasydi carried this special gift all the way from Logan Village. She found the nest on her property and thought that we would appreciate it in the art room (and we do). She walked it to the bus, on the bus, off the bus and then into school. It is nearly as big as she is. Thank you, Khasydi. You are such a delight!

09.01.2022 Interesting read

09.01.2022 Grade 5 students drew imaginary insects and then transferred their drawings onto sheets of foam. Using rollers, paint and a pin press they produced prints from their designs. The children love printing in any shape or form. They would stay all day if they could.

07.01.2022 Miss Condon popped into the art room today to see what her students were creating and we couldnt resist wishing her a big Happy Birthday on her special day.

04.01.2022 Some of our Japanese visitors receiving ceramic lady beetles made by the students on Friday. I am not sure whether or not they understood the reference to St Mary of the Cross MacKillop. A little lost in the translation. They were delighted nonetheless.
