11.01.2022 I remember some thirty or forty years ago, my how times fly, hearing about actress Joan Collins who was famous at the time for being in the TV series Dallas, an over the top drama series about a dysfunctional rich family of Texans. I wasn't a fan of the series but I was impressed that Joan Collins was quite content to upset all the starched shirt brigade by being who she was even when she was entering her fifties. It was an era when such an age meant you got a blue rinse thro...ugh your hair, bought some badly cut floral dress to distract from the middle age spread and tried to look dignified so that no-one accused you of "dressing up like lamb". But no, not Joan. She just kept on being herself. Joan was the new fifty. People like her revolutionized what we expected of that age group. In 2020 Joan turned 86 and she's still saying "people make too much fuss about age, which is just a number." Most of what we believe about age in drummed into us. It's not just our diet and exercise regime that dates us but what we believe about the aging process. Unhealthy aging is quite possibly a disease, mostly caused by inflammation and our attitudes to life. Changing those attitudes requires drilling down, past our conscious mind, into our subconscious using meditation, hypnosis and affirmations. https://youtu.be/wChYI0ZHOCA See more

07.01.2022 The classic four agreements of Toltec wisdom. I find I have to frequently remind myself of number 2. Wishing there was more of 1 in the world. Number 3 takes practice, lots and lots of practice. The translation of number 4 into Australian is probably "Av a go ya mug!" although I prefer the Japanese idea of having kokoro which simultaneously translates as heart and courage and having a go.

02.01.2022 Every Twenty years we get a planetary position called a Grand Conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn. Each time this happens it marks, astrologically at least, the end of one epoch and the beginning of a new one. This year the conjunction occurs at 0 Aquarius on 21 December 2020 (or 22 December 2020, depending on where in the world you live). So what's happened in the last twenty years? 9/11 (2001), the crash of HIH (Australia's biggest insurance company in 2001 which had fa...r reaching consequences for OH&S, insurance costs, threatened the viability of a whole host of non-profit organisations and led to much, much regulation), the GFC (2008), the rise of Google (the company started in 1998 but we didn't get Google mail until 2001), Apple wi-fi enabled Ipads (2010), Windows XP operating system (2001), the rise of social media (Facebook started in 2004), online shopping, digital downloads and of course data mining. Yes it all happened in the last twenty years. What will the next twenty years bring? With the conjunction occurring in Aquarius we can expect more technological innovation in the fields of science (a no-brainer there), a societal shift towards more egalitarianism rather than top-down hierarchical structures (we've already seen a preview of this) and more broadly a greater sharing of ideas and co-operation. For Australia the conjunction occurs in the third house of communication, short-distance travel and siblings so we can expect a lot happening in our local neighborhood, our neighboring countries being our siblings, information sharing and maybe a transformation in the area of media. Where will the conjunction fall in your house? See more
