A building designer is a licensed professional who designs buildings and produces all the necessary drawings and legal documentation for its construction. They also examine authority regulations, overlays and codes relevant to your project. Building designers are highly trained in construction, design and documentation, coordinating all consultants required such as engineer, surveyor, certifier, town planner, builder etc. ... Building designers have gained a reputation for providing practical designs, understanding the construction of a building, listening to their clients, and designing within a budget. In Queensland, a building designer must have insurance and be licensed with the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC). Structural building work in Qld must have drawings completed either by a licensed building designer or a registered architect.

15.01.2022 Getting to know you. Its the third site measure in as many weeks. I always feel a little excited to sit down at the computer and model a building with all its measurements laid out in front of me. Perhaps its the promise of getting to know the building, her character and quirks, so she can be moulded to her full potential. Site measures are hard work even on the most glorious of winters days. But getting out there in the height of a Queensland summer is brutal. Still, I love even this tiring part of the job. Its rewarding getting to know the building, the ones who reside there, and orchestrating a transformation for all involved.
13.01.2022 Drawings for an extension to this gorgeous double brick home have just been sent out for building approval. Construction begins this month. Cant wait to see her come to life!

07.01.2022 How amazing is it when your client bakes for a meeting Scones and jam while we sit with our builder to do a budget estimate at the very outset of the project. I love my clients, and our builders are fantastic too - they can do ballpark estimates from my rough concepts, so we can proceed without any nasty surprises.
