19.01.2022 Welcome Dr Robert Sheen, our new President! Robert has been on the ASAPS committee for quite a while and we look forward to his leadership in the coming years. Apart from the day-to-day management that goes into being the ASAPS President, Robert is also thinking ahead to what plastic surgery needs look like 10 20 years from now. ... He believes that we, as a Board, should create an environment that is conducive to plastic surgeons having fruitful careers and serving our patients with integrity.

18.01.2022 In a recent article on Mamamia, a woman shares her story of what it's like to have an abdominoplasty (commonly called a 'tummy tuck') after having three children and three C-sections. Read about her motivation to have one, her doubts and personal bias, her day-by-day recovery and the importance of having a tummy tuck done by a specialist plastic surgeon who is FRACS accredited (Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons) and a member of peak bodies like ASPS and ASAPS.

17.01.2022 What is a Direct Excision Neck Lift? A direct excision neck lift improves the appearance of the neck by tightening the neck muscles and removing the excess fat and skin. It is particularly effective in getting rid of the so-called double chin that many people are concerned about. 17.01.2022 How do you know if your surgeon is committed to excellence? There are so many underqualified doctors calling themselves Specialist Plastic Surgeons. Unlike "cosmetic specialists" with very little training, Specialist Plastic Surgeons have years of experience, training, qualifications, they are RACS Fellows, and members of ASAPS, ISPS and ASPS. But the most important difference is the high industry standards and the ultimate commitment to quality that ASAPS members bring into their practice every day. Watch this video to find out what excellence means to ASAPS members: https://loom.ly/b_xEEnk

16.01.2022 What's a non-surgical double chin reduction? Did you know that the stubborn fatty area under the chin can now be treated non-surgically with an effective fat dissolving treatment? This is the fat pad that sits behind the chin and adds volume to the ‘turkey neck’ area, giving a fullness to your neck and making you lose the angle between your jawline and neck. Traditionally, surgery was the only means to rejuvenate this area of the neck through liposuction and surgical neck lif...t. Nowadays, surgery is not the only way to treat this area patients have the option of having a non-surgical double chin reduction. Find out more about in a blog by ASAPS member Dr Johnny Kwei: https://loom.ly/6usGAt8
