21.01.2022 Hailsa all, I wish to let all kith and kin know that our dear Kindred member and Volva in training Weronica has had a severe stroke yesterday and is currently in Flinders Medical Centre. Unfortunately her situation deteriorated further last night. I ask you to offer your prayers to Eir for her as at very least she will have a long path of rehabilitation in front of her.

19.01.2022 Sadly once again the blades are out in the USA, and they are trying to get Australians involved. A person who goes by the online name of Bonnie Hoppa has launched a viscous and unsubstantiated attack on the AFA. I do not know what organisation, if any she belongs to, or represents, but her attack is at best sickening as she presents a whole lot of unsubstantiated "facts" about the AFA in an attack that sickened me. I can only assume that there are those who feel threatened by... the fact that the AFA is currently the largest and most active Asatru/Heathen organisation in the world. I am happy to provide the "attack statement" on request to any readers but refuse to voluntarily propagate such vitriol, which has ZERO evidence to support it contained in the "open letter". It is sad that so much energy is given to attacking other organisation, when the positive approach of showing others the value of your own message is so much more positive and useful. I have briefly investigated Bonnie Hoppa, the author of this tripe, and it would appear that she cannot make up her mind if she is Asatru or Wiccan. Given the AFA's strong historical connections to the US Military, she has chosen to attack this aspect of the AFA's work, with claims that the US military has banned that AFA etc, with of course no supporting evidence as usual. I suggest that we simply refuse to get involved in unsubstantiated slanging matches which the USA Heathens seem to be so talented at and get on with our own work in demonstrating the appropriateness of our Way in 21st Century society! 14.01.2022 As some of you already know my wife Spirit Kathy is being admitted to the RAH this morning for major surgery in relations to her Lung Cancer. It is expected that she will be in hospital for 1 - 2 weeks with a long and difficult recovery at home of months after that. She wishes to acknowledge Astrid for the delivery of a Goddess figurine of Eir late yesterday afternoon to accompany her on this journey. As some of your are aware this surgery will be complicated by the fact that she has severe Eosinophilic Asthma and is a high anaesthetic risk. Please keep her in your thoughts and hearts as she fights the battle of her life.

12.01.2022 MIDSUMMER: Well Folks, For a range of reasons including personal, we are cancelling the formal Midsummer event tomorrow the 17 December. We will discuss some of those reasons on this list in the New Year. One of those reasons relates to the ill health of one of our children and the fact that one of us may need the money to fly over to NSW in the near future. For over 20 years, I have funded and prepared nearly every event the Kindred has conducted, and the one I did not fund ...and prepare was a complete cock-up. Whilst we have occasionally requested donations, we have never demanded them. This was not a problem when I/we were earning good money, but for the past 2 years we have been forced to be on the pension because of health reasons. I don't know about you all, but being on the pension these days is not exactly easy street. Yes we have a nice home, but that was not obtained on the pension and we still have a serious mortgage on it. Equivalent to many peoples rent! Plus we have to cope with illness and disability. I am sorry we do not whinge and complain about it. I did not choose to get Encephalitis nor did Spirit choose to get Chronic Asthma and a Spinal Injury. Most of all we have just not been physically able to get the Henge area ready for tomorrow, and the House Elves have gone on strike. There is also the house cleanup, and the cleanup after the event, which we are just not up to at the moment. One of the problems I guess is that like most Heathens we are too stinking proud to ask for help. Then again, most people know that we are not doing it easy and have disabilities. Enough whinging. If people would like to call in for some social time and are willing to take us as they find us, they would be very welcome. But as to the rest - We just canna do it Cap'n. Thank you to all those that RSVP'd even if it was only to wish us well and say they could not come. We do apologise for any inconvenience caused by the late notice of this. 09.01.2022 Hailsa All, As many of you may know, my wife "Spirit" has been battling chronic Eosinophilic Asthma for the past several years. On Monday after being rushed to hospital by ambulance for an acute exacerbation of this horrid form of Asthma, she has now been diagnosed with Lung Cancer in addition to to the Eosinophilic Asthma. While we are currently short on details as to a proposed treatment program, there is little doubt about the diagnosis. We pray that Eir's healing hands will be with her as she fights this aspect of the wyrd laid before her.

I have had some people indicate that they "may" attend but am still waiting for confirmation from some. This is really important from a catering and organisation perspective.
