25.01.2022 Walking the equality line and supporting anti-racism movements can be tough as an ally. Always second-guessing yourself? Is it ok for me to say this? or Is it ok for me to do that?... The mistreatment of people based on their race, isn’t ok by you but how you do actually fit into this movement? You’re asking What’s right thing for me to do? What’s the appropriate thing for me to do? Supporting and amplifying blak (Aboriginal) and marginalised voices are something you want to do. But who do turn to for advice on this? I get it. It’s confusing and you just want someone who can guide you through what appropriate and what’s not appropriate to say. That’s why I created the Culturally Inclusive Language online course. After completing my course, my clients felt more confident in knowing what to say and how to say it to create more inclusion, show support for the anti-discrimination movement, and amplify Aboriginal voices. And they were guided through it by someone who should, be leading this conversation an Aboriginal person.Me. If you want to be and supported along your allyship journey and hear the teachings from an Aboriginal perspective, check out the details and curriculum of my online course here 10x video lessons are already uploaded with at least another 3 to be added to the course. You can find the course here https://ascension-personal-development-academy.thinkific.co

23.01.2022 This is what I’m ready to do today. What about you?

23.01.2022 WHY I DON'T IDENTIFY AS INDIGENOUS This is something I shared in my Inclusion & Diversity Creator's Community facebook group today. I had shared a post earlier that not all Aboriginal people identify as Aboriginal and that I, personally, don't identify as indigenous... ... This is the reason why. Language is so important and you will find by watching this video how I was using self-idetifying lanaguage that was used in an inhuman way on my people. When we have the knowlegde of language, we can harness it in powerful ways to create a positive social impact in the world. What thoughts cam up for you as you watched this video?

07.01.2022 I’m drawing a line in the sand on active Aboriginal allyship. Active allyship for Aboriginal Cultural inclusion and equality is such a beautiful thing, but... sometimes it can go so wrong. Allyship is about supporting and amplifying. It’s about harnessing your personal power and privilege to amplify the voices of Aboriginal people. It’s about using what you have to support and continue the growth and movement of those voices into spaces where genuine change can happen.... Allyship is not about speaking on behalf of Aboriginal people. It is not speaking for. It is not creating solutions to social issues that directly impact Aboriginal people. It is not creating community projects or services for Aboriginal people. It’s not empowering Aboriginal people and it’s not uplifting them. Aboriginal people are autonomous. They can make decisions, create solutions, and design community projects and services for themselves. You are not a saviour. Aboriginal people don’t need saving They need the system to be fair and inclusive. They need the space to create and come up with solutions to problems their community is facing. And they need those systems to support them in the decision making processes. I’m drawing a line in the sand here. Are you an ally who understands the difference between supporting vs empowering? Do you understand the difference between speaking for and amplifying voices? Or are you stuck in a mindset of saviourism? Genuine allyships is knowing that we are all equal and taking action in a way stand supports that knowing. If you consider yourself an ally but you’re a little confused on how to be the best ally you can be, I invite you to join my Facebook group Inclusion and Diversity creator’s community . As a Warrwa-Noongar Aboriginal woman, I will openly and lovingly support you through the deep understanding of allyship so you'll know what exactly what actions you can take to be an active ally. Request to join here: Inclusion & Diversity Creator's Community I look forward to supporting you in your allyship. Louise O'Reilly

04.01.2022 In my school, I was taught a censored history. I remember it like it was yesterday. My mum came in to talk with my teacher after school. We had been learning about Australian history in class.... My mum asked why the class wasn’t learning about the Aboriginal history along with colonial history. My teacher’s reply is something that played in my mind over and over again. We’re not allowed to teach that history she said. As a 6-year-old, I couldn’t understand. My conclusion was If this school, somewhere I spent a majority of my time at, could not share Aboriginal history. There must be something wrong with it. The people in it must be bad or wrong. Those people are my people so... I must be bad and wrong too! I started to question myself and my community. Are we wrong? Is it not ok to be us, to be Aboriginal? This little event was one of those life-defining moments for me. Even though it stayed with me all these years, it was something that I pushed to the back of my mind. That is until I had children of my own. This event sprung back into my conscious awareness and has since been one of my motivators to educate people about racism, discrimination, oppressive systems, and cultural inclusion. I never want my children to ever have to question who they are, their identity, or ask themselves whether their existence is wrong. I don’t want this for ANY CHILD EVER I openly believe the education system needs massive reform to create more cultural inclusion within their schools. Maybe I’ll create a program just for schools. What do you think? Give me a in the comments if you think the schooling system needs to be more inclusive.

03.01.2022 So, you may have noticed I've been sharing information on an upcoming 6-week online program I'll be hosting from next Thursday. I design the program to help people who host online groups to create those online space as culturally inclusive with confidence. That confidence comes from the deep understanding I guide them through in knowing, understanding, and honoring their own culture, heritage, and identity. ... Because, once a person has that deep knowing of how important, special, and sacred their own culture is, they can start to identify the parts of the online spaces that are inclusive or not. Would you like the ability to identify what parts of your online groups and programs are inclusive or exclusive? If you would like to hear more about my program, please send me a message.

02.01.2022 EARLY BIRD ALMOST GONE- Under 4hrs until this runs out! Did you know that real, genuine inclusion starts within? Most people don't know this, but then again, you aren't most people. Unless the inner work has been done to address your own identity, culture, heritage, and the unconscious biases and privilege you have, you can't understand or create genuine inclusion in your spaces.... This step is the most important step of all and it's only that most people try to avoid. In my 6-week cultural immersion program. Honour, I will walk you through the inner work necessary to create genuine inclusive spaces and learn how to honour all people of all cultures in your spaces You have until 5pm AWST to claim the early bird offer for Honour. After that, the price will be increasing by $120. Please msg me if you're interested in a 2x or 3x payment plan or if you're interested in applying for a partial scholarship. https://ascension-personal-development-academy.thinkific.co
