07.01.2022 Editing your front-end client to change the validation error message to display this is a very cruel joke to play on your dev team. How about we don't do that... >_> On a more serious note... Often times when working with clients we are confronted with the need to modify existing behavior due to bugs in the code or miscommunication about the business requirement. The best way to tackle these things are as follows. 1) Explain the "expected behavior" is to your developers. "As... a user logging in, if my username or password are invalid, I would like to see a red error message stating "The email and password you entered do not match our records, please try again." 2) Explain the "actual behavior." The validation message for invalid login attempts states "[object Object]" in red text. 3) Lastly outline the steps the replicate the issue or record. I input my email "[email protected]" along with my password: "abc123" and when I do, the validation message returns "[object Object]" in red text. These 3 simple things will cut the back and forth time required significantly saving you time and money as a business! It all adds up.
