24.01.2022 As this year comes to a close, I wanted to remind you that amazing things did happen this year .. even though it certainly doesn’t always feel like it! I got to meet & coach some very strong & inspiring women! 2020 was a big year for everyone! Not everything went as planned! ... I even ventured into the online / virtual training world .. and it went pretty successfully, if I do say so myself! That being said, my clients were very happy when we returned to face to face sessions in the studio! Many of my clients have experienced & achieved things they didn't think were even possible at the start of 2020 ... but with determination, strength, resilience & consistency they have * moved more * done push ups on their toes * moved without pain in back, knees or hips! * lifted some seriously heavy weights & felt strong & confident * overcome fears * gained confidence in themselves & their abilities * remembered that they are amazing women! Even though you may feel that 2020 was not kind to you .. I am positive that there are moments that you can reflect on that you are grateful for & proud of. Reflect on those moments, relish the feeling of pride & accomplishment, and know that you CAN achieve whatever you set your mind to in 2021! Happy New Year to friends & family and thank you for allowing me to be a part of your health & fitness life Stay safe & active .. I look forward to seeing you in 2021
24.01.2022 Happy New Year! Hello 2021!! Wishing you all the best for a safe & healthy year for you and your family
23.01.2022 It’s here .. the new year .. the time when you get to start over, start fresh, make this your year. Have you given thought to a plan of action to make this your year? Are you setting resolutions? ... I’m not .. I haven’t for years. I found I would give up with them after the first few weeks, just like most people! What about this year, instead of resolutions .. we find another way to create or focus our intentions for the year? Here are a couple of ideas .. Theme for the year ie self care A specific focus for the year ie improve strength A word for your year ie energy A feeling that you want to have ie calm Rather than being stuck with resolutions that might make you feel uncomfortable or annoyed if you stuff up .. the above will allow you to go with the flow a little more and change focus or direction as you feel you need depending on the way your life plays out. You will be able to ask yourself if what you are doing or what you want to do is in line with the theme, focus or feeling you want for yourself during the year. The next few days is the perfect time to think about what you really want to be, or do, or have this year and design your theme, focus or feeling around that. If you would like to share yours here, feel free .. put it out to the universe!

16.01.2022 Are you still feeling some of the effects of some over indulging? Maybe you need to "detox" a little? Before I disappoint you, I’m not talking juices, fasting, pills or powders! Give these things a go * Grab a glass or bottle of water and make sure you drink around 2 litres each day for the rest of the week... * Avoid refined sugar, processed and packaged foods like the plague ( or Covid ) * Feast on a little lean protein, grainy carbs and lots of veg & fruit and avoid overeating * Avoid alcohol .. sorry * Aim for 7 - 8 hours sleep each night * Make sure you fit in at least 30minutes of exercise at least every second day .. walk, run, yoga, swim * Let your body go through it's natural detox process and be kind to yourself! Follow these practices everyday for at least the next week and you'll be surprised how much lighter and refreshed you feel!

01.01.2022 So, I have a little story. Last week I went out to a lunch for Melbourne Cup. This is my annual catch up with some friends .. and a chance to get a fancy frock on and dress up! This is a pic of me after I won the Fashions on the Field for the day. ( I know, right .. WTF!! ) Doing this type of thing is a really long way out of my comfort zone like a really long way! But, I gathered a little bit of courage ( and a cocktail or 3 ) and stood up in front of lots of people! I hav...en’t told many people about this at all ( out of my comfort zone and all ) and it’s taken me a while to even get my head around it and accept it. I am not the uber glamorous model type with the model figure. But I am reasonably fit, strong & confident ( well not always confident, but sometimes it’s OK to pretend ). I could say more about being about of my comfort zone and how sometimes we just need to get out there but what I wanted to say about this was more along the lines of acknowledging the good things that we do or that come our way. We tend to like to compare ourselves to others more often than we should. We often criticise ourselves more often than we should. We will believe the negative things about ourselves far more quickly than we would ever believe the positive things. But, sometimes, even if it’s just once this week can you acknowledge the good things that you have done or the positive things about yourself? I’m acknowledging right here and now that I pulled this whole glamorous thing off .. even if it was just for one day .. and I didn’t look half bad! Your turn, what good things have you achieved lately? Is it time to acknowledge them?
