25.01.2022 https://drive.google.com//0B10_I0aMi8WrSmVfV0JkSkpxZ/view Hi Guys I'm looking for professionals who might be interested in renting an office in my suite - please contact me if interested and please feel free to share :)

24.01.2022 http://blogs.hbr.org///why_managers_havent_embraced_c.html - Interesting article. My take is that the uptake has been slow is that whilst managers/leaders will rarely push back on the concept that organisations are complex adaptive systems and there is some research as to WHAT they need to do, there has been little insight into HOW managers/leaders can develop the capacity to work effectively with complexity.

23.01.2022 Challenges the cliched KISS and the plethora of quotes extolling the virtue of simplicity. Organisations are often not simple - they are complex: things are unpredictable, actions do not get the expected results, interdependence and interconnectedness means non-linearity is often rampant and ambiguity is woven into the fabric of organisational life. This is rarely reflected in approaches to leadership/management which are often predicated on the assumption that organisations can be controlled, culture can be created and results guaranteed.

22.01.2022 Most of my leadership coaching involves at some point involves scaffolding leaders to deal more effectively with uncertainty and to see it as a natural part of the complexity of organisational life. This is not easy for them when the organisations they work for and the people they lead expect and demand predictability and certainty.

21.01.2022 Just some thoughts on how conversations sometimes play out :)

21.01.2022 Culture is always emergent and cannot be mandated. It emerges in the interaction between the component parts of the organisation i.e. the people and that interaction always occurs in the form of conversation and always occurs at the local level. Therefore the culture of organisation emerges in the everyday local conversations of the organisations, the patterns they take and what they enable and what they constrain. To effectively participate in co-creating the organisational culture leaders might attend to how they shape, and are shaped by these conversations

13.01.2022 http://ascentcat.com/?p=544 One of the many pleasures of being a coach is what I learn about myself as well as what coachees learn about themselves...

12.01.2022 Given our current obsession with the economy, interest rates, returns on superannuation etc, I found this quote from Booby Kennedy quite interesting "The gross national product does not allow for the health of our children, the quality of their education, or the joy of their play. It does not include the beauty of our poetry or the strength of our marriages; the intelligence of our public debate or the integrity of our public officials. it measures neither our wit nor our courage; neither our wisdom nor our learning; neither our compassion nor our devotion to our country; it measures everything, in short, except that which makes life worthwhile" - 1968 - how far we haven't come!

06.01.2022 I’ve often been intrigued by common shapes that come up in coaching - in particular quadrants and triangles - they seem to continually pop up! In this issue I’m taking a quick look at triangles. The drama triangle is a well-known model derived from transactional analysis (Karpman, 1968), which is widely used in coaching interventions to spot common relational dysfunctions .....

05.01.2022 I see a lot of "smart" leadership at both the political and corporate level but very little adaptive leadership and I think we as a society are the poorer for it :(
