03.01.2022 Wow! Ruby Riethmuller (2015) is just 5 years out of school and she has already set up a social enterprise organisation supporting the well being of teenage girls called Womn-Kind. Ruby says Womn-Kind is a unique source of emotional support and personal empowerment for teenage girls with a strong philosophy of girls leading girls and young people leading young people. We are on a mission to close the gap in effective support and mental health education for adolescent girls an...d create a network of young women who feel cared for, loved, capable, strong, important and as though they belong. As a ‘big sister’ service, Womn-Kind is currently offering one-on-one wellbeing mentoring, tailored boarding house wellbeing programs and in-school workshops. Womn-Kind provides access to support to girls aged between 11 and 21 in an approachable, relatable, reliable, interactive and non-intimidating way both in person and online. Ruby is striving to create a community where girls can gather and share a set of experiences given the path as a teenage girl, is one well-travelled. To learn more or get involved, please check out her website www.womn-kind.com.au and Instagram page: @womnkind

03.01.2022 Shout out to Old Girl Poppy Thomson (2018) who took a gap year to record an EP called ‘Loves Brand New’. Poppy says that her involvement with music as a student at Ascham had a huge influence on her. She actually wrote the track 'Feel So New York' while she was on the Ascham / New York exchange. If you wanted to have a listen to the tracks they can be found on Spotify
