Printed Worship at Home resources are available on request, or on the sa.uca.org.au website as below. The Congregational AGM which was scheduled for this coming Sunday will be postponed to a later date.

21.01.2022 Playgroup - Unfortunately due to the change in Covid19 restrictions Playgroup will need to be cancelled for Tuesday 17th November and 24th November. We will be in touch about what happens after that. Disappointing but we certainly understand the need for caution. Table Tennis - For the same reason, Table Tennis will be cancelled for next Monday 23rd November and 30th November. For other activities, additional density precautions will apply.

20.01.2022 As we prepare to cross into Ash Wednesday, I hardly have words to preface this blessing this year. But I can say I am more curious and more fierce than ever abo...ut its question, "Did you not know what the Holy One can do with dust?" May we keep learning. May we be part of the answer. Blessings to you, beloveds. BLESSING THE DUST All those days you felt like dust, like dirt, as if all you had to do was turn your face toward the wind and be scattered to the four corners or swept away by the smallest breath as insubstantial did you not know what the Holy One can do with dust? This is the day we freely say we are scorched. This is the hour we are marked by what has made it through the burning. This is the moment we ask for the blessing that lives within the ancient ashes, that makes its home inside the soil of this sacred earth. So let us be marked not for sorrow. And let us be marked not for shame. Let us be marked not for false humility or for thinking we are less than we are but for claiming what God can do within the dust, within the dirt, within the stuff of which the world is made and the stars that blaze in our bones and the galaxies that spiral inside the smudge we bear. 09.01.2022 God speaking... The man whispered, God, speak to me and a meadowlark sang. But, the man did not hear. So, the man yelled, God speak to me and the thunder ro...lled across the sky. But, the man did not listen. The man looked around and said, God let me see you and a star shined brightly. But, the man did not see. And the man shouted, God show me a miracle and a life was born. But, the man did not notice. So the man cried out in despair, Touch me God, and let me know you’re here whereupon God reached down and touched the man. But the man brushed the butterfly away and walked on. (Author unknown)

08.01.2022 This week, we’re inviting you to join us as we hold conflict-torn regions in our hearts. Together in thought and prayer, we can lift up those living through c...onflict and experiencing the terrible human cost of violence. With the recent news of the Taliban taking control in Afghanistan, it's vital that we are interceding for those experiencing devastating circumstances and that they might persevere despite hardship and danger. Let’s pray for them especially as this week marks the following UN commemorative days acknowledging international conflict: 19 August: World Humanitarian Day 21 August: International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism 22 August: International Day Commemorating the Victims of Acts of Violence Based on Religion or Belief Find out more about how you can join us in prayer and give hope to those living through conflict: https://www.biblesociety.org.au/blog/10-40-prayer-window/

07.01.2022 We are thrilled with a recent Outback Links project on Adnyamathanha lands. We are still celebrating. With the help of our Parkin-Sturt Remote Area Bush Chaplai...n Sunny, we recently sent a group of Outback Links volunteers to a remote Aboriginal community to take part in a project restoring their sacred country. The partnership was an incredible symbol of reconciliation that bridged relationships between First Nations peoples and Frontier Services. Kick off your #NAIDOCWeek celebrations with us today and check out our video of the group trip. #FrontierServices #OutbackLinks See more

04.01.2022 COVID-19 Guidelines for Uniting Church congregations have been updated and are now available to download from: https://sa.uca.org.au/uniting-church-media-/covi...d-19-update The guidelines summarise the SA Government’s Emergency Management (Public Activities-COVID-19) Direction 2020. Included are directions about Holy Communion, Hospitality, Baptism, Weddings, Funerals and more. Churches are advised to take a cautious approach to re-opening and only to proceed when all aspects are considered.

03.01.2022 Along with the restrictions which came into place today, there will be no activities at church until at least Tuesday 1st December. If you wish to receive a Worship at Home resource for Sunday, please send a message or email [email protected]. If you require assistance with shopping or medical care and genuinely do not have family who can help you, please send a message.... I understand this will cause some anxiety and dismay for many. Please try to look after each other by phone or email. If there is someone you think might be feeling lonely or vulnerable, give them a call. And if YOU are feeling lonely or vulnerable, give someone else a call!
