24.01.2022 I wanted to share some information I found out recently about what we are putting on our bodies without realising... My poor little man had tonsillitis and while I was waiting for his script I decided to have a look at the ingredients in some of the lip balms that were being sold.(of course I am the crazy label reading lady now) I used a free app called INGRED... The results ARE crazy. The first one I picked up as I use to use this myself was Palmers coconut oil formula.... (packaging looks great No Parabens, No Phthalates etc etc) *My Red Flags Benzophenone - possible carcinogen/ studies have suggested it may lead to several kinds of tumors (one of the worst chemical filters that exist) is absorbed in significant quantities by the skin and for my Mummy friends out there passing to breast milk ... Ozokerite - is petroleum derivative in my opinion not the natural I was looking for. My next was a Carmex as I have a few friends who use this brand. *My Red Flag Petrolatum - derived from petroleum, very profitable since they cost very little to obtain. These substances cover the skin as if they were a plastic wrap in such a way that they clog the pores, block the respiration of cells, extract the moisture from the skin and remove it to the epidermis so it appears shiny and hydrated, but only apparently because of that plastic layer your skin is incapacitated to fulfill it's defense functions. It prevents elimination of toxins causing acne, irritation, redness and can cause your skin to age prematurely. Hence when you stop using these creams the skin appears even drier and more damaged than when you started using them. Wow that's really upsetting to think we are sold products with these chemicals... This is why I make my own lip balm or buy them from Young Living. I now know exactly what is going on my lips ... it wasn't that long ago I had no idea about reading labels but now I do there is no going back ... Knowledge is Power. I want to help anyone who is interested in making the switch to low tox living... I have even found it saves my family heaps of money... Make the switch today send me a message you won't regret it
