20.01.2022 Daniella & Patrick // On Friday - less than 24 hours before their wedding - these two found themselves without a wedding venue. A day prior to this it was business as usual. To say that they took this last minute blow like absolute champions is an understatement. In less than 6 hours they sourced another space for their event and in less than 6 hours, they also organised tables, chairs and lighting for an unforgettably beautiful outdoor gathering that would now be held out in... the open, underneath the great Australian 'milky way'. In so many ways it was a blessing in disguise. Being confined to a smaller event space was no longer going to be a big issue for them. People now had room to move about freely and even though hugging and handshaking was something we all endeavoured to avoid - seeing Daniella & Patrick wash their hands of the single life was better than any other soapy I'd ever seen. Their joy was infectious and as Daniella walked down the aisle towards Patrick, tears of pure, unadulterated love began to run down his cheeks. Social distancing did nothing to stop the spread - as guests, who undoubtedly thought they were immune to tears, began, one by one to choke up as well. I don't know about you - but it's moments like these that really get to me. Call me a hopeless romantic too - but if there's one thing right now that the world needs - that ought to go viral - it's love like this!! Congrats guys!! 20.01.2022 Those who know me know that I'm a complete sucker for gorgeous styling details. What I loved the most however about the styling at Courtney & Luke's Wedding was that EVERYTHING "fit". From the flowers to the stationery, to the table settings - not one detail was considered without first taking into account the space where their wedding was going to be held. From the pops of pink in the orange roses to the white orchids to the faded blue/grey napkins - everything blended in pe...rfectly with everything else. The grevilleas growing wildly down the face of the building looked as much a part of the overall styling as the ocean and the sand did. The pops of yellow in the grass and the shrubbery that surrounded the venue was not overlooked either. Everything looked as though it belonged exactly where it was placed. To say that Courtney has impeccable taste in style is an absolute understatement. Seriously - her event styling knowledge is second to none and I'd love to photograph more weddings that she has styled. Sydney peeps and northern NSW peeps - if you're planning on getting hitched next year - then hit this crazy, talented woman up!! You won't regret it!!! PS. 14.01.2022 I love intimate weddings as much as I love big weddings...and at a time when numbers and gathering sizes really do matter in this industry - it's so awesome to see all of my couples prioritising their health (and the health of others) and their love for each other over the more trivial, non-life-changing things like 200 perfectly coordinated settings at a table. Yes - COVID-19 sucks balls big time!!! BUT it's moments like these that define us! Every challenge and every adver...sity we face contains within it seeds for growth. What I've learned over the years is that: * Friendships that are genuine - will survive. * That your health and well-being and the health of others and their well-being far outweighs almost everything else. * That loves endures all things. On that note: I HAVE to say out loud that I seriously, seriously LOVE my tribe SO much!!! To date every single wedding that has been booked this year is going ahead as planned. It's true that 'your vibe attracts your tribe'!! and here at ASH & STONE - I am stoked to say that I have the most beautiful, down-to-earth and chill couples ever!!!! We're all in this together!! 11.01.2022 I had an absolute blast photographing these two in France last year and can't wait to share more with you from this day!! That said - I'm back from Japan and ready to take on 2020 as March officially marks the start of my my wedding season this year!! Weddings aside, Engagement sessions for this year are also in high demand. For those that have been asking - I have room for up to 5 more weddings. Engagement Session-wise - I only have room for 2 more couples. 2021 spaces are also starting to disappear quickly too. April, May and September next year are almost at full capacity with July not far behind. My advice: don't wait until it's too late to inquire and to book. I've had to turn away so many dream clients this year simply because the date they wanted was already taken.

10.01.2022 TEARS // This photograph is a wee bit grainy and technically speaking, I was probably too close to Teliah and her father when I framed this shot - but if this was a photograph of my dad and I then you know what...I couldn't care less how technically incorrect it was. These moments are fleeting and they are over in an instant. None of us know what tomorrow holds either - but one thing is for sure - if a moment like this happens while I'm around - then I will do what ever I can to capture it. I promise.

07.01.2022 Rainy European weather is NOT ideal when it comes to shooting film - nor is it ideal to be wearing lingerie when it's freezing cold outside - but this gorgeous woman absolutely nailed it!! PS. I am always hesitant to show my film work here because it's so, so different to my digital work - but one thing I am beginning to care less and less about is what others think (especially other photographers). Of course I care what my couples think - it would be ludicrous not to - but a...s far as my film work goes - I do it for me more than anything else. Film has taught me to slow down. It has taught me to be more deliberate about framing and shooting in general. With film you HAVE to get it right in camera. You HAVE to be able to read light and you HAVE to be able to use it the best way you know how to on any given day. You need to understand the native colour characteristics of the film that you're using and you need to know how it will react to different types of light. I chose #portra400 because I knew it would go purple-y/pink'ish in this type of light.
