25.01.2022 This year has been far from perfect, but one thing that was reinforced for the Asha Yoga community was how *vital* it is to be able to incorporate meditation, yoga & pilates into your everyday. A lot of our incredible yogi’s were working at home, many struggling with back, shoulder & neck pain. Being able to incorporate 5 quick minutes of stretching your body and slowing your breath can make the world of difference. When you truly *learn* yoga, pilates or meditation, you take... those skills with you everywhere that you go. Now that’s pretty powerful, isn’t it? Are you ready to learn yoga, pilates & mediation? Check out our timetable for December https://ashayoga.com.au/classes-2/

21.01.2022 Here's your reminder to go outside and enjoy what nature has to offer! Make the most of this lovely weather by taking your practice outdoors Whether it's taking your yoga mat to your nearest park or even your backyard, you'll be able to reconnect with yourself while releasing some positive endorphins and boosting your mood. Experience nature's beautiful sounds while soaking up some Vitamin D! Why not switch your workspace outside as well for a change and soak up those benefits? You’ll thank us later

20.01.2022 This is how fast the end of 2020 has ended and already it’s Christmas Eve Feeling stressed & overwhelmed by everything that still needs to be done before tomorrow? We’re rolling out our mats and taking a few moments to pause. We could all use more *pause* in our life.... Our studio will be closed over the Christmas and New Year period, but we will be back on the 7th of January ready for the new year! You can still access our on-demand classes on our website www.ashayoga.com.au

20.01.2022 Are you having a day where you’re feeling a little bit stressed or exhausted? We know that since we’ve been at home, with kids and work, we’ve been having more days like this than not. Don’t forget that it’s totally normal to feel like this. After all, our bodies are in a constant state of fight/ flight and after a while that is simply exhausting. Doing a couple of simple short deep breathing exercises during the day, can do wonders for your body and mind! Deep breathing helps your body to slow down and our muscles to relax. Don’t forget to focus on unclenching your jaw, loosening your shoulders and straightening your back. Try it out and see how you feel. You’ll be able to tackle the rest of the day!

19.01.2022 Thankyou to all those who joined in our special unity Vinyasa Yoga class today! Here is the song we played in savasana https://fb.watch/3fMHm93fWN/

16.01.2022 The warmer weather is coming and is here to stay You might find you are craving refreshing, light and cool snack options. Have you tried chia pudding? This only takes 15 minutes to prepare [gotta love that!], but is best prepared the night before for the perfect grab-n-go fuel. We love making our chia puddings in single serve jars so we can pop them in our lunchboxes for easy eating, or to take with us. You can customise these so easily for any allergies, dietary requir...ements and tastes. What you need: 1 cup liquid [we recommend almond or soy milk] 3-4 tablespoons of chia seeds 1 tablespoon maple syrup [or as desired] 1 teaspoon vanilla bean extract [or as desired] Fresh or frozen fruit to serve What you need to do: Whisk all ingredients together well [except for fruit], ensuring there are no/very little lumps of chia seeds. Refrigerate for a minimum of 15 minutes until the chia seeds have expanded and created a pudding-like texture.* Serve with fresh or frozen fruit on top. Pretty easy right? See more

It can be easy to get caught up in it all, choosing to take a nap or scroll through Instagram instead [and you *never* feel better after a daytime nap, *ever*]. Everything in moderation, listen to you and your body We’ve been getting lots of feedback that our classes and flows have been such a great influence on improving mental health and living through something monumental. We’ll keep keeping on

Or have you virtually completed a class with a loved one? We would love to know

13.01.2022 How cute are these little yogis? Boy, we’ve missed seeing their cheeky smiles! Our kid yoga classes are not only fun for your little ones but they are great for managing emotions, calming down racing thoughts and relaxation. 2020 has been an unsettling time for everyone, including all of the little yogi’s out there. It’s important to help them release these pressures and let the weight of the world go. The amazing Emma teaches our little yogi’s about grounding themselves and... relaxation while improving their strength and flexibility. By incorporating fun games and themes for them to enjoy and feel comfortable within her class. Our kids classes will be returning to our studio in 2021. We *can’t* wait to see everybody

11.01.2022 Another stroll down retreat memory lane we learned how to achieve mindfulness through painting and colour mixing It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to step out of the yoga/meditation/pilates world and into something a little different and a whole lot of fun. What are some of your favourite ways to practice mindfulness? During lockdown we’ve loved sitting outside in the sun with a good book, taking a slow and mindful walk [no music or phones allowed] or even getting creative with some pencils or paint

10.01.2022 Are you after a challenge to change up isolation? How about this partner pose? This pose strengthens your core muscles, balance, your sense of centre and arm strength. Plus, it’s so much fun which is the best part If your kids love playing Twister and getting themselves into funny and wacky poses with their bodies, yoga just might be the thing for them! It also helps encourage quiet stillness and mindfulness [which can be super tricky with little people especially i...n lockdown]. Have a look at our offerings via our online studio you might find something from a galaxy far, far away https://www.online.ashayoga.com.au/ See more

09.01.2022 Thanks to our little yogis for showing us how it’s done Try this partner pose and see how you go! It involves trusting your partner for balance, some coordination and a whole lot of fun and giggles. What are some other partner poses you love? We also offer some awesome kids yoga [including games] online: https://www.online.ashayoga.com.au/courses/kids-yoga
